Dr Gkonteva Maria is a Specialist Cardiologist - Military Physician with a private practice in Korydallos. She graduated from the Medical School of Democritus University of Thrace. She completed a 2-year residency in Internal Medicine at the 401 General Military Hospital of Athens, followed by a 4-year cardiology specialty training at the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center. She has been trained across the full spectrum of cardiology with extensive case experience, actively participating in complex cases of heart failure, transplants, valvular heart diseases, interventional techniques (coronary angiography, angioplasty, TAVI), and imaging techniques (echocardiography, cardiac MRI, scintigraphy). She is also a graduate of the Officers School of Nursing, where she served as a Nursing Officer in clinics at the 401 GMHA, gaining valuable experience in a multidisciplinary patient approach. Additionally, she graduated from the Department of Primary Education of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and holds a master's degree from the Department of Early Childhood Education and Educational Design of the School of Humanities at the University of the Aegean. Her diverse education and experience guide her in providing personalized care and solutions tailored to your needs. Currently, she is an Attending Cardiologist at the Cardiology Clinic of the 401 GMHA and is undergoing further training in the latest cardiac ultrasound techniques (stress echo, contrast echo, transesophageal echocardiography) at the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Center. Furthermore, she is a member of the Special Corps of Physicians of KEPA. She examines adults and children over 6 years old. Lastly, Dr. Gkonteva participates in the National Program for the prevention and management of cardiovascular risks.
