Stauroulakis Georgios

Stauroulakis Georgios is a cardiologist who maintains his private practice in Pedion tou Areos. He graduated from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 1989, having been admitted through the Panhellenic Examinations in 1983. He specialized in the Cardiology Clinic of Laiko Hospital (1993-97), where he subsequently worked as a salaried scientific associate until 2000. Since 2001, he has been working as an Attending Cardiologist at the Cardiology Clinic of ‘Ygeias Melathron’ (the healthcare institution of the National Bank Personnel Health Fund). He served as a collaborator in the hemodynamic laboratories (coronary angiographies and angioplasties) of Konstantopouleio Hospital (Ag. Olga) and Laiko Hospital, and since 2012 to the present at the Athens Bioclinic. In 2003, he obtained a doctorate from the University of Athens with a focus on endothelial function in patients with arterial hypertension, under the supervision of Professor Moutsopoulos. Following additional training at the 251 General Air Force Hospital and examinations (2005), he received accreditation from the Hellenic Cardiological Society for performing specialized echocardiographic techniques (transesophageal echocardiography, stress echo). He has a particular interest in Sports Cardiology and hereditary heart diseases, following specialization and certification at St George’s Hospital, University of London. He has contributed to numerous published papers in international journals, which have received corresponding bibliographic citations. He has maintained a private cardiology practice since 1998.
