Every specialist goes through a verification process before appearing on our platform. Here, we explain what we check, how we carry out these checks, and where the limits of our verification process lie.
Our aim is to confirm, to the extent possible through official sources and relevant supporting documentation, that each healthcare professional has the essential professional credentials required to practise their profession and that they are presented on the platform under the correct specialty.
For each specialist, we review three key elements:
We confirm that the doctor/healthcare professional is registered with the relevant Medical Association or professional body for the area in which they practise.
Registration with a Medical Association is a fundamental requirement for the lawful practice of medicine in Greece.
For healthcare professionals who do not belong to the medical profession, verification is carried out through the relevant professional body responsible for their respective profession.
This is verified through the relevant Medical Association or professional body, as applicable.
For healthcare professionals, a corresponding process is followed. Where applicable, they are required to provide and upload to the platform their professional licence, including both the licence number and the relevant document.
Where no specific professional body exists, healthcare professionals are required to provide the operating licence details for their practice, based on their Business Activity Code (KAD).
We check that the specialty under which a doctor is presented on Doctoranytime corresponds to the information held by the relevant Medical Association.
This means that when you search, for example, for a cardiologist, dermatologist or gynaecologist, you know that the specialty displayed on the professional’s profile has been checked before publication.
This is verified through the relevant Medical Association.
For healthcare professions that do not strictly belong to the medical field, verification is carried out through the relevant professional body responsible for that profession. If there is no professional body corresponding to the specialty, or if the body’s membership records are not publicly available, we verify only the operating details of the professional’s practice through their Business Activity Code (KAD).
We ask every doctor to provide the number of their professional licence and to submit supporting documentation.
This allows us to add an additional layer of verification to the information provided by the specialist.
The licence details are declared by the doctor and accompanied by supporting documentation.
The process begins before the profile is published.
The specialist provides us with the necessary personal and professional information, together with the relevant supporting documents.
We then verify their registration and specialty through the relevant professional body and review the supporting documentation for their licence.
Only once our checks have been completed can the profile become available for appointment bookings.
We are not a public authority or regulatory body, and we do not replace the role of Medical Associations or the relevant government authorities.
We verify the information that can be confirmed through official sources and the supporting documents provided to us. However, there are certain details whose validity we are unable to monitor or verify continuously.
For example, although we request the professional licence number and supporting documentation, we cannot in every case independently confirm in real time whether a licence remains active or whether its status has changed.
Responsibility for the accuracy and ongoing updating of the information provided by the doctor/specialist remains with the professional themselves, while the issuance, validity and supervision of the relevant professional rights and licences fall under the responsibility of the competent institutional and regulatory authorities.
On our side, we continuously improve our verification process, with the aim of providing greater safety and transparency for the people who use Doctoranytime.
Yes. Every specialist follows the required verification process before their profile is activated on the platform.
What exactly happens before the profile of a psychologist, physiotherapist, dietitian or speech therapist is published?
For psychologists: In order to be listed as a psychologist, the professional must upload the actual professional licence document—not simply a licence number—to the practice management platform. Once the document has been uploaded, the professional can edit their profile and the profile can become public. The company subsequently reviews the document.
For other healthcare professionals who are not doctors (physiotherapists, dietitians, speech therapists, etc.): we only request the operating licence number of the professional premises. We record the number, but the professional is not required to provide a supporting document, and there is no available registry through which the number can be independently verified.
The specialty displayed on the profile is checked against the records of the relevant Medical Association or, in the case of a non-medical profession, the relevant professional body.
We ask every doctor and healthcare professional to provide their licence number as well as supporting documentation. However, Doctoranytime is not the authority responsible for issuing or supervising professional licences and cannot, in every case, independently confirm their current status in real time.
On the doctor’s/specialist’s profile, you can find the professional information displayed on the platform, as well as further information about the way we carry out our verification checks.
Please contact us at [email protected]. We will review the report and, where necessary, contact the doctor/specialist or the relevant professional body.
The profile of the specialist under review is suspended for as long as the case is being investigated. If legal proceedings are ongoing, the profile remains suspended until those proceedings have been concluded. If we are informed that a final conviction has been issued, the profile will not be displayed on Doctoranytime again.
There are two indirect indicators: the healthcare professional’s business Tax Identification Number (TIN) is registered and invoices are issued under that number, and a search of the Panhellenic Medical Association (PIS) records confirms that a specialist exists under the relevant name and registration.
There is no identity verification through a telephone number, corporate email address/domain, or a dedicated identity document.
