Παράλληλα, στο πλαίσιο της μετεκπαίδευσής του και της εκεί ερευνητικής του δραστηριότητας, ανακηρύχτηκε το 2021 Διδάκτορας της Ιατρικής Σχολής του Πανεπιστημίου της Ζυρίχης. Του έχει απονεμηθεί η ανώτατη πιστοποίηση επάρκειας για την εκτέλεση αξονικών καρδιάς από την Ευρωπαϊκή Εταιρεία Καρδιαγγειακής Απεικόνισης (EACVI level 3 accreditation) και την Αμερικανική Εταιρεία Αξονικών Καρδιάς (SCCT level 3 accreditation). Koumelli Areti is a Military Physician and Specialist Cardiologist who maintains a private practice in Ambelokipi. Το Σύγχρονο ΑγγειοΚαρδιολογικό Κέντρο του ιατρού Παπαμιχαήλ Ανδρέα αποτελεί ένα από τα καλύτερα και αρτιότερα εξοπλισμένα ΑγγειοΚαρδιολογικά κέντρα στην Ελλάδα.
