He has worked in both the private and public sectors in Greece and abroad. Among other roles, he served as the physician for the National Under-21 Football Team for one year, for the Judo Team of the National Gymnastic Association for over ten years, as team doctor for the Molaikos Laconia club, as a race doctor for the "Zirineia" Athletics competitions, as well as for the National Judo Team. He served in the National Health System (E.S.Y.) as head of the Orthopedic Department, from which he resigned holding the rank of Senior Registrar (Epithelitis A’). He has over ten years of experience in various hospitals in the United Kingdom, having performed over 2000 surgeries as a surgeon or trainer, most recently at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital of University Hospitals Dorset, where he was also nominated for "Best Trainer." He has won the World Judo Championship for Healthcare Professionals twice (2008 in Germany and 2009 in Spain), as well as his category in the Greek Veterans Judo Championship (Nea Makri, 2024), with additional medals from international and national competitions.

    ΜΕΤΑ ΑΠΟ ΑΡΘΡΟΠΛΑΣΤΙΚΗ ΙΣΧΙΟΥ ΑΙΣΘΑΝΟΜΑΙ ΜΟΥΔΙΑΣΜΑ ΣΤΟ ΠΕΛΜΑ ΚΑΙ ΒΑΡΟΣ ΣΤΟ ΠΟΔΙ ΜΕΤΑ ΔΥΟ ΜΗΝΕΣ ΕΝΩ ΠΡΙΝ ΗΤΑΝ ΦΥΣΙΟΛΟΓΙΚΑ.

    • Μπορεί αν οφείλεται σε τραυματισμό του ισχιακού νεύρου κατά το χειρουργείο, ή πίεση από το αιμάτωμα. Αν είναι το αιμάτωμα τελικώς θα απορροφηθεί και το μούδιασμα θα φύγει τελείως. Αν είναι τραυματισμός συνήθως οφείλεται σε διάταση / τράβηγμα του ισχιακού κατά τη διάρκεια των χειρισμών και πολύ σπανίως σε άμεσο τραυματισμό. Το πιθανότερο είναι το πρώτο και μπορεί να υποχωρήσει, αν και δεν είναι 100% βέβαιο. Το μόνο που μπορείτε όμως να κάνετε είναι να περιμένετε. Αποτελεσματική "θεραπεία" δυστυχώς δεν υπάρχει.

    When I changed home and started sleeping on a softer mattress a couple of months ago, my right leg started getting numb. I have had lower back issues for a long time, so I thought it was related and didn't pay much attention. Now, there is a slight but constant loss of sensation and pain, along with tickling and itching. I'm worried about being too late so can you please help me, how serious this might be, and which doctor should I see?

    • You should start by seeing an Orthopaedic surgeon. You might need nerve conduction studies, +- MRI of the lower back (lumbar spine). Since, with those symptoms, surgery is usually not recommended, no, it's not "too late".

  • Πόνος στον ώμο

    Hi I have fallen down 2 days ago, I hit my back around the right rib area and was gasping for breath for about 5min. Now there is visible bruising on about 3 ribs. The pain is quite bad I have been taking some painkillers but wondering if there is anything else I can do or take to improve the situation.

    • Sometimes a neoprene belt around the bruised area helps. That's only for pain relief though and will have no effect on healing. The healing process will have to run its course . Also, results vary. It might not help at all. Unfortunately , the bottom line is that you just have to be patient.
