Pediatric ophthalmologists in Athens

Η Αντωνοπούλου Παναγιώτα είναι Χειρουργός Οφθαλμίατρος, με επίσημες εξειδικεύσεις σε Παιδοοφθαλμολογία, Στραβισμό και Καταρράκτη όλων των ηλικιών από το Hν. Βασίλειο και τον Καναδά, και διατηρεί ιδιωτικό ιατρείο στους Αμπελόκηπους. Εισήχθη στην Ιατρική Σχολή του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών, από όπου και αποφοίτησε με βαθμό Άριστα. Φοίτησε στο μεταπτυχιακό πρόγραμμα MSc Biology of Vision του University College Lοndon λαμβάνοντας τον τίτλο με Διάκριση. Ολοκλήρωσε το επίσημο πρόγραμμα ειδικότητας του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου (Certificate of Completion of Training). Πρόκειται για το πιο μακροχρόνιο και εντατικό πρόγραμμα ειδίκευσης στη Χειρουργική Οφθαλμολογία σε παγκόσμιο επίπεδο. Μετά από εξετάσεις, έλαβε τον τίτλο της Fellow του Royal College of Ophthalmologists (FRCOphth) στο Ηνωμένο Βασίλειο και του European Board of Ophthalmologists (FEBO). Είναι κάτοχος αναγνωρισμένων διπλωμάτων εξειδίκευσης στην Παιδιατρική Οφθαλμολογία και το Στραβισμό Eνηλίκων ενώ είναι η πρώτη ιατρός από την Ελλάδα που εξειδικεύτηκε στην Παιδιατρική Οφθαλμολογία στο εμβληματικό The Hospital for Sick Children of Toronto, όπου βρίσκεται το μεγαλύτερο κέντρο Παιδιατρικής Οφθαλμολογίας της Βορείου Αμερικής (HΠΑ και Καναδάς). Έχει εργαστεί ως Επιμελήτρια στο Νοσοκομείο Παίδων « Η Αγία Σοφία» και στο Manchester Royal Eye Hospital (Senior Registrar & ΑSTO). Διαθέτει πλούσιο ερευνητικό και εκπαιδευτικό έργο. Ακόμη, συμμετέχει ενεργά με ομιλίες σε διεθνή συνέδρια και είναι εξετάστρια για τις εξετάσεις FRCOphth. Μετά τη δωδεκαετή πορεία της στο εξωτερικό, επέστρεψε στην Ελλάδα το 2023 και, παράλληλα με το ιδιωτικό της ιατρείο στην Αθήνα, συνεργάζεται με μεγάλα ιδιωτικά νοσοκομεία. Πέραν της Γενικής Οφθαλμολογίας, παρέχει εξειδικευμένες υπηρεσίες σε όλους τους τομείς της Παιδοοφθαλμολογίας και του Στραβισμού Ενηλίκων. Έχοντας πραγματοποιήσει χιλιάδες χειρουργικές επεμβάσεις σε βρέφη, παιδιά και ενήλικες, έχει μεγάλη εμπειρία στις πλέον σύγχρονες μεθόδους χειρουργικής αντιμετώπισης καταρράκτη βρεφών, παίδων και ενηλίκων, δύσκολων περιστατικών στραβισμού σε όλες τις ηλικίες, παιδιατρικού γλαυκώματος, ανωμαλιών του προσθίου τμήματος του οφθαλμού και των βλεφάρων, αμφιβληστροειδοπάθειας της προωρότητας και της αδυναμίας παροχέτευσης των δακρύων.

Katsiampoula Vasiliki MD, PhDc is an Ophthalmic Surgeon and maintains a private practice in Neo Psychiko, Athens. She graduated from the Medical School of the University of Patras and specialized in Ophthalmology at the General Children's Hospital "Agia Sofia" and at the 1st University Ophthalmology Clinic of the General Hospital of Athens "G. Gennimatas," working alongside distinguished professors of Ophthalmology with a primary focus on corneal diseases. At the same time, she is a PhD candidate at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She has published papers in international scientific journals and has presented at Greek, European, and international conferences. She is a member of the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and the Hellenic Ophthalmological Society, as well as the Hellenic Society of Vitreous and Retina. She is also a member of the Medical Association of Munich, Germany, and Bern, Switzerland. Her practice handles cases encompassing the full spectrum of Ophthalmology in adults and children, including surgical cases.

Maria Melisourgaki is an Ophthalmologist and runs the private practice EyeCheck in Neo Psychiko. She holds a medical degree from the Medical School of the University of Crete and specialized in Ophthalmology at the Venizeleio Hospital of Heraklion, Crete, and at the Athens Ophthalmology Clinic. She is responsible for the ophthalmology clinic at the Medifirst Polyclinic in Marousi and is an affiliated physician of the Athens Medi-clinic and the OMMA Ophthalmology Institute of Athens. She examines adults and children from 5 years old.

Armenis Ioannis is an Ophthalmologist who maintains a private practice in Aegaleo. He completed his medical studies at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens Medical School. He possesses extensive clinical experience, having worked for 2 years as a Consultant B Ophthalmologist at the Health Center in Aegaleo. Additionally, he has worked as an ophthalmologist in the Ophthalmology Clinic of the General Hospital of Athens "Red Cross - Korgialeneio Benakeio," as well as at the 251 Air Force General Hospital. Dr. Syndikakis Konstantinos MD is an Ophthalmologist with a private practice in Kallithea. He graduated from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and completed his specialization in Ophthalmology at the University Ophthalmology Clinic of Athens. Additionally, he specialized in Ophthalmic Surgery and currently serves as a Scientific Associate at the Ophthalmic Surgery Center "Athens Eye Hospital" in Glyfada and at the "Eye Day Clinic." Dr. Stathopoulou Eirini is an Ophthalmologist with a private practice in Peristeri. She holds a medical degree from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and specialized in Ophthalmology at the General Hospital of Athens “Laiko.” She has served as an associate at the Second University Ophthalmology Clinic of the University General Hospital “Attikon” and was responsible for the Ophthalmology department of the Western Athens Polyclinic. He graduated from the Medical School of the University of Craiova and completed his specialization in ophthalmology at Melissia General Hospital "Amalia Fleming" and the General Hospital "Red Cross". Pappa Eleni is an Ophthalmic Surgeon and has maintained a private practice in Peristeri since 2021. She is a graduate of the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She completed her five-year specialization in ophthalmology at one of the largest hospitals in northern Germany, Klinikum Bremen-Mitte. She also worked at the same hospital as a Consultant until March 2020, gaining significant experience in the diagnosis, monitoring, as well as the conservative and surgical management of ophthalmic conditions in both children and adults. Since September 2020, she has been a Consultant at the Euroclinic of Pediatrics and since 2021 also at the Euroclinic of Athens. She holds the European, German, and Greek National Ophthalmology Diplomas. She has numerous participations in international seminars and ophthalmology postgraduate trainings, as well as presentations/posters at German conferences. Finally, she is fluent in English and German.
