Ολοκλήρωσε τις σπουδές του αποφοιτώντας με Άριστα (9.84/10) από την Ιατρική Σχολή του Πανεπιστημίου ΄΄CAROL DAVILA΄΄, Βουκουρέστι. Ο ιατρός εκπαιδεύτηκε σε μεγάλα νοσοκομεία, όπως ΚΑΤ, Νοσοκομείο Παίδων "Αγία Σοφία", Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Λευκωσίας, Νοσοκομείο ΄΄Παμμακάριστος΄΄, Νοσοκομείο Σύρου, Νοσοκομείο Σαντορίνης αποκτώντας μεγάλη εμπειρία σε ορθοπαιδικές χειρουργικές επεμβάσεις όλου του φάσματος της ειδικότητας, καθώς και σε συντηρητικές μεθόδους αποθεραπείας. Παράλληλα, η επιστημονική του κατάρτιση εμπλουτίστηκε με την συμμετοχή του στα Τμήματα Νευροχειρουργικής - Σπονδυλικής Στήλης, Πλαστικής Χειρουργικής και Μικροχειρουργικής - Παθήσεων Άνω Άκρου. Έχει εργαστεί ως επιμελητής στο Ιατρικό Κέντρο Αθηνών (Κλινική Αμαρουσίου), ΙΑΣΩ Γενική Κλινική, καθώς και στην Ορθοπαιδική Κλινική του Γενικού Κρατικού ΝίκαιαςΠειραιά. Είναι κάτοχος τίτλων, όπως του ATLS (ADVANCED TRAUMA LIFE SUPPORT), BLS (BASIC LIFE SUPPORT) και της U/S Hip Graaf Method. Ενώ, παράλληλα, είναι μέλος της Ευρωπαϊκής Αθλητιατρικής Εταιρείας, της Ευρωπαϊκής Αρθροσκοπικής Εταιρείας, της AO TRAUMA Foundation, του Ελληνικού Ιδρύματος Οστεοπόρωσης, του Ιατρικού Συλλόγου Αθηνών και του Παγκύπριου Ιατρικού Συλλόγου. Dr. Tsoutsanis Athanasios holds a PhD from the University of Athens and is the Director of the 6th Orthopedic Clinic at HYGEIA Hospital. He maintains a private practice at HYGEIA Hospital as well as in Kifisia (opposite KAT Hospital). His initial postgraduate training was completed at the University Orthopedic Clinic of the renowned Rizzoli Hospital in Bologna, Italy, specializing in arthroplasty surgery. Subsequently, he trained in Paris in the innovative minimally invasive AMIS technique for hip arthroplasty and is a certified instructor of this technique. After performing thousands of hip arthroplasty surgeries, he was designated as one of the official reference centers in Europe for training orthopedic surgeons in the AMIS technique. He performed the first live surgery using the AMIS technique in Greece as part of an educational seminar on hip arthroplasty.

He specialized in knee arthroplasty using the minimally invasive MIK technique.

He trained in the United Kingdom and Luxembourg and is a certified user of the MAKO and NAVIO robotic systems for total knee arthroplasty.

Dr. Pagonas Athanasios is an Orthopedic Surgeon with a private practice located in Acharnes. He graduated from the Medical School of the University of Napoli Federico II and specializes in sports injuries, with educational and clinical experience in robotic surgery for orthopedic patients. As part of his specialization and continuous scientific training in orthopedics, he completed a six-month training program in Upper Limb Surgery and Microsurgery at the KAT Hospital, followed by one year in the pediatric orthopedic department of the same institution. He has also obtained the AO Course Advance in Operative Fracture Management certificate in Davos, Switzerland. As a private practitioner, he collaborates with hospitals and clinics such as the Athens Medical Center, Palaiou Psychikou Clinic, and Dr Hospital. Additionally, he serves as the Head Physician for the football team PAE Acharnikos and all its academies. Furthermore, he actively participates in national and international conferences, staying updated with all technological and medical advancements in orthopedics, and has published work in respected Greek and international medical journals. Finally, Dr. Pagonas is a member of the Hellenic Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology, the Hellenic Arthroscopy Society, the Hellenic Osteoporosis Foundation, and the European Society for Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery, and Arthroscopy.
