Gkoritsas Konstantinos MD, PhD

Gkoritsas Konstantinos is a Specialist Pathologist with a private practice in Ilisia. He graduated from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and specialized in pathology at the university clinics of France, Hopital St. Antoine and Hopital Broussais, as well as at the Pathology Clinic of the University Hospital of Patras. He has completed postgraduate studies in France in Medical Statistics - Epidemiology - Public Health at Paris VI Pierre et Marie Curie and specialized in Hepatology at Hopital Beaujon Paris. Additionally, he holds a PhD with a thesis on "Correlation between Hepatitis C and Hepatocellular Carcinoma" from the Medical School of the University of Patras. He has worked as a Consultant with experience in infectious diseases at the University Pathology Clinic of the Patras Hospital and as Consultant and Director of the Pathology Clinic at the Athens Thoracic Diseases Hospital "Sotiria" from 1997 to 2014. To date, he remains a collaborator at the Medical Center of Athens in Psychiko and Locus Medicus. He possesses extensive experience in infectious diseases, autoimmune diseases, respiratory diseases, and hepatic diseases, serving as head of the pathology and hepatology outpatient clinics at the aforementioned hospitals, as well as through long-standing experience in emergency care and on-call duties. Specifically, he has been involved in the hospitalization and management of cases of hepatitis, liver cirrhosis, respiratory and intra-abdominal infections, autoimmune and metabolic diseases, and liver tumors, with particular expertise in interventional diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, such as liver and thoracic punctures. Finally, he has authored and published over 50 papers in international and Greek medical journals and 200 presentations at medical conferences and is a member of the Hellenic Society of Pathology and the Hellenic and European Societies for the Study of the Liver.
