Dr Lexou Xatzopoulou Ioanna MD, PhD

Dr. Ioanna T. Lechou holds a PhD from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and is a specialist in Dermatology – Venereology, with extensive experience in Pediatric Dermatology. She graduated from the Medical School of the University of Athens and completed her rural medical service at the General Hospital of Corinth. She subsequently trained for one year in Internal Medicine at the Hematology Department of Metaxa Hospital, followed by three years of specialization in Dermatology – Venereology at Andreas Syggros Hospital.Dr. Lechou has served as a physician at Andreas Syggros Hospital and as a Consultant in the Pediatric Dermatology Department of “Aghia Sophia” Children’s Hospital, gaining significant expertise in the management of dermatological conditions in childhood and adolescence.Her doctoral thesis, entitled “Study of mononuclear infiltration in syphilitic lesions before and after treatment in various stages of syphilis”, was conducted at the Immunodermatology Laboratory of Andreas Syggros Hospital, where she also collaborated as a researcher during her training. The thesis was completed under the supervision of Professor Antonis Vareltzidis.She has contributed to numerous Greek and international scientific publications and is a member of the Athens Medical Association (ISA) and the Hellenic Society of Dermatology and Venereology (HSVD). She is certified for electronic prescribing and actively participates in scientific conferences and continuing medical education.Currently, Dr. Lechou practices privately at her dermatology clinic in Nea Smyrni (48 Eleftheriou Venizelou Street), providing comprehensive diagnosis and treatment for children and adults across the full spectrum of dermatological conditions, with a particular focus on pediatric dermatology and venereal infections.
