Giannitsi Sofia MD, PhD is a Cardiologist and Consultant of the Cardiology Team at "HYGEIA" Hospital and maintains a private practice in Argyroupoli. She graduated and earned her doctorate from the Medical School of the University of Ioannina, with her dissertation focusing on heart failure. In 2021, she obtained her Cardiology specialty title and the European Diploma in Cardiology (European Examination in General Cardiology, European Society of Cardiology). She has worked and specialized for four years in the Cardiology Department of the Asklipieio Voulas General Hospital and acquired additional experience in Electrophysiology, Nuclear Cardiology, and Cardiothoracic Surgery at the respective clinics of the Athens General Hospital "Evangelismos". She has a significant scientific and research record, participating as a principal investigator in numerous international multicenter studies, and has authored numerous scientific articles published in reputable international peer-reviewed journals as well as presented at international and Greek Cardiology scientific conferences. She has participated as an invited speaker and commentator at various scientific conferences, with some of her lectures having received distinction and awards from the Hellenic Cardiological Society. Additionally, she is the author of chapters in both Greek and international Cardiology textbooks. She is an active member of the Hellenic and European Societies of Cardiology, the Hellenic Resuscitation Council (HRC), the Echocardiography Working Group, the European Association of Cardiovascular Imaging (EACVI), and the Athens Medical Association. Finally, she is certified to provide specialized life support and serves as an instructor in the ADVANCED LIFE SUPPORT (ALS) courses conducted by the European Resuscitation Council, organized by the Hellenic Resuscitation Council.
