Krithymos Thomas MD, MSc, PhD

Krithymos Thomas MD, MSc, PhD is an Orthopedic Surgeon with extensive training and advanced professional experience in Germany, where he served in specialized and academic hospitals, reaching the position of Deputy Director of Orthopedics and Traumatology. He maintains private practices in Ambelokipi and Cholargos. He holds a master’s degree in Metabolic Bone Diseases and is a PhD candidate at the Medical School of the University of Duisburg–Essen, with active research involvement. He specializes in modern, minimally invasive hip and knee arthroplasties, implementing techniques that reduce postoperative pain and accelerate recovery. He has particular expertise in total hip arthroplasty using the anterior approach (ASI approach – THA), unicompartmental knee arthroplasties, as well as in applying Fast Track protocols for faster mobilization and safe patient return. In Germany, he actively participated as a trainer in modern arthroplasty techniques, transferring high-standard international expertise. Concurrently, he is a certified Sports Medicine Specialist in Germany and an AGA Arthroskopeur, with extensive experience in managing sports injuries, knee and shoulder conditions, as well as in the functional rehabilitation of athletes. He is a member of the medical staff of AEK BC and Panionios FC, providing specialized care to professional and amateur athletes. Currently, he is the Deputy Director of the Shoulder and Knee Clinic at Metropolitan General, implementing personalized, evidence-based therapeutic approaches aimed at long-term functionality, durability of surgical outcomes, and improvement of quality of life.
