Σάιμον-Κουσουρής Νικόλας

Simon–Kousouris Nikolas is a General / Family Physician with special expertise in menopause care and obesity as a chronic disease, and runs a private medical practice in Cholargos.

He has extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of perimenopausal and menopausal symptoms, gained during his long clinical career in the United Kingdom, where he worked in a structured menopause clinic within Primary Care. He is certified by the British Menopause Society (BMS) and has been appointed Menopause Lead within the Hellenic Society of General / Family Medicine. His approach to perimenopause and menopause is holistic and evidence-based, addressing not only vasomotor symptoms but also the metabolic, psychological, cardiovascular, and skeletal effects that significantly impact women’s health and quality of life.

In parallel, he has particular expertise in obesity as a chronic, complex disease and its modern medical management. He is a SCOPE-certified physician (Specialist Certification of Obesity Professional) by the World Obesity Federation and a member of the Hellenic Obesity Society. His care is grounded in evidence-based medicine, with personalised assessment and long-term support, beyond simple dietary or exercise advice.

He completed undergraduate studies in Molecular Biology and Mathematics at the State University of New York and obtained his medical degree from the Medical University of Varna. He subsequently trained and worked for a total of 12 years in the United Kingdom at hospitals including King’s College Hospital, St George’s, and Imperial College Healthcare. He completed his specialty training in General / Family Medicine in London and is a member of the Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP).

As a General / Family Physician, he places particular emphasis on building a relationship of trust with his patients, providing a safe environment in which patients feel heard, understood, and actively involved in decisions regarding their health. He regularly attends international conferences and educational programmes, remaining continuously up to date with developments and innovations in modern medicine.
