Adam Athanasios MD, FICS is an Orthopedic Surgeon based in Thessaloniki. He graduated from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and specialized in General Surgery at the General Hospital of Kastoria, as well as in Orthopedic Surgery at the General Hospital of Edessa and the General Hospital "Agios Pavlos" of Thessaloniki (Sports Injuries Department). He has also been trained in Pediatric Surgery at Booth Hall Children’s Hospital in Manchester, England, and in Shoulder Surgery at the Academic Hospital "Asklepios Klinik Seligenstadt" in Frankfurt, Germany. Additionally, he specialized in the prosthetics/total arthroplasty department at the University Orthopedic Clinic "Sahlgrenska" in Goteborg, Sweden. There, he stayed for an extended period performing a large number of Total Knee and Hip Arthroplasties, following the most modern and specialized Swedish preoperative and postoperative protocols. Furthermore, he has been involved in Foot Surgery, having trained at the "Policlinico-Ponte San Pietro" Clinic in Milan, Italy, and at the end of 2017, he trained at the leading American hospital "Hospital for Special Surgery-HSS" in the total arthroplasty department, as a fellow of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. Since 2014, he is a member of the International College of Surgeons, headquartered in Chicago, USA, and has participated in numerous orthopedic conferences both within and outside Greece. Finally, he has been trained at the headquarters of the American company Stryker, in Miami, Florida, in the MAKO Smart Robotics system for Robotic Knee & Hip Arthroplasty.
