Επίσης έλαβε περαιτέρω εξειδίκευση σε προχωρημένες τεχνικές λαπαροσκοπικής και υστεροσκοπικής χειρουργικής στο Πανεπιστημιακό Νοσοκομείο Ulleval του Όσλο. Το 2001 απέκτησε την Ευρωπαϊκή πιστοποίηση Κολποσκόπησης από το Βασιλικό Κολλέγιο Μαιευτήρων - Γυναικολόγων του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου, ενώ το 2002 πιστοποιήθηκε από το Family Planning Association της Μεγάλης Βρετανίας. Maria Sakellariou is a Gynecologist - Obstetrician and maintains a private practice in Panormou. Η εξειδίκευσή της αφορά την προγεννητική διάγνωση συγγενών ανωμαλιών εμβρύου, την εκτέλεση των υπερηχογραφημάτων κύησης αυχενικής διαφάνειας και Β’ επιπέδου καθώς και τις επεμβάσεις αμνιοκέντησης και λήψης τροφοβλάστης. Το 1999 απέκτησε μεταπτυχιακό τίτλο στους προηγμένους Μαιευτικούς Υπερήχους από το Βασιλικό Κολλέγιο Μαιευτήρων - Γυναικολόγων του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου. Το 2000 πιστοποιήθηκε από το Fetal Medicine Foundation της Μεγάλης Βρετανίας και το όνομά της έκτοτε συμπεριλαμβάνεται στην παγκόσμια λίστα ιατρών που αξιολογούνται κάθε χρόνο και έχουν το δικαίωμα να χρησιμοποιούν το πρόγραμμα της Αυχενικής Διαφάνειας διεθνώς. Το 2005 ιδρύει στο Κολωνάκι το προηγμένο Μαιευτικό Γυναικολογικό Κέντρο gonimotis όπου και συνεχίζει να εργάζεται έως σήμερα. Στο κέντρο gonimotis διενεργούνται όλες οι εξειδικευμένες εξετάσεις Εμβρυομητρικής Ιατρικής, όπως η αυχενική διαφάνεια, τα υπερηχογραφήματα Β’ επιπέδου και Doppler, οι επεμβάσεις αμνιοπαρακέντησης και λήψης τροφοβλάστης, το μη-επεμβατικό γενετικό τεστ καθώς και η πλήρης παρακολούθηση των κυήσεων.
