Pateraki Eleni BSc, PGDip

Eleni Pateraki is a Mental Health Counselor and runs a private counseling office in Heraklion, Crete. She holds a degree in Humanities and Social Studies and is certified in the Non-Directive Intervention (NDI) Psychotherapy & Group Facilitation method.

Her work centers on non-directive intervention (NDI), a deeply humanistic and integrative experiential approach that utilizes the principles and techniques of Person-Centered Theory and Psychodrama to activate mind and body, aiming to bring forth the individual's authentic emotions and visceral desires as a means of self-awareness, personal development, and ultimately as a guide for therapy.

She specializes in empowering LGBTQ+ individuals exclusively through an affirmative approach, while in the field of Psychotraumatology she works based on the "ego states" model (see internal child).

At her office, she provides individual and group counseling sessions for adult support, organizes psychoeducation cycles for adults, parents, and adolescents, and has significant experience in facilitating self-help groups and peer activist groups.

She is a founding and active member of the non-governmental organization "Greek Intersex Community - Intersex Greece," which focuses on raising awareness and advocating for intersex human rights in Greece.
