Ο Δρ. Νικόλαος Κωστάκης είναι Γενικός Ιατρός με εκτεταμένη επαγγελματική εμπειρία σε Ελλάδα κι εξωτερικό. Είναι απόφοιτος της Ιατρικής Σχολής του Πανεπιστημίου Νάπολης (S.U.N) στην Ιταλία. Ως φοιτητής υπήρξε υπότροφος του IFMSA στο πανεπιστημιο του Oviedo στην Ισπανία.

Ξεκίνησε την ιατρική του πορεία το 2008 ως αγροτικός ιατρός στο Κέντρο Υγείας Σητείας, στη συνέχεια εργάστηκε ως ιδιώτης ιατρός στο Ιατρικό Κέντρο "Cretan Medi Help" στις Γούβες Ηρακλείου (2009-2010), ενώ το 2010 συνεργάστηκε με την ιδιωτική κλινική "Ασκληπιείον Κρήτης". Την περίοδο 2010-2011 υπηρέτησε ως αγροτικός ιατρός επί θητεία στο Περιφερειακό Ιατρείο Μενετών στην Κάρπαθο. Ακολούθως, το 2013-2014, μετανάστευσε στη Σουηδία όπου και εργάστηκε ως ειδικευόμενος ιατρός γενικής ιατρικής στο Κέντρο Υγείας "FLEN". Έπειτα συνέχισε και ολοκλήρωσε την ειδικότητα του στην Ελλάδα, στο Πανεπιστημιακό Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Ηρακλείου (ΠΑΓΝΗ), την περίοδο 2014-2017. 

Από το 2017 μέχρι σήμερα, είναι επιμελητής Γενικής Ιατρικής στην 1η Τοπική Μονάδα Υγείας (ΤΟ.Μ.Υ) στο Ηράκλειο, ενώ από το 2025 διατηρεί και ιδιωτικό ιατρείο στην ίδια πόλη. Μιλάει άπταιστα ιταλικά, αγγλικά και σουηδικά κι έχει συμμετάσχει σε μεγάλο αριθμό συνεδρίων και σεμιναρίων στην Ελλάδα και στην Ευρώπη.
