Εργάστηκε ως Επιμελητής στο Τμήμα Παθήσεων και Χειρουργικής αμφιβληστροειδούς, υαλοειδούς και ωχράς κηλίδας στο Πανεπιστημιακό Νοσοκομείο της Γενεύης και στη συνέχεια στο Πανεπιστημιακό Νοσοκομείο του Λίβερπουλ, Αγγλία υπό τη διεύθυνση των παγκοσμίου φήμης χειρουργών οφθαλμίατρων καθηγητή Κ. Πουρναρά και Prof H. Heiman αντίστοιχα. Είναι συγγραφέας 35 άρθρων σε διεθνή επιστημονικά περιοδικά καθώς και 18 κεφαλαίων σε αγγλικά και γαλλικά βιβλία οφθαλμολογίας και έχει πάνω από 90 παρουσιάσεις σε ελληνικά και διεθνή συνέδρια οφθαλμολογίας. Είναι κάτοχος του Ευρωπαικού διπλώματος οφθαλμολογίας (European Board of Ophthalmology) και έχει βραβευτεί για τις επιστημονικές του εργασίες σε διεθνή συνέδρια. Ο Δρ. Μενδρινός έχει συμμετάσχει σε διεθνείς μελέτες (Excite, Mont Blanc, Cabernet, VIEW2) οι οποίες καθιέρωσαν τη σύγχρονη αντιμετώπιση της ηλικιακής εκφύλισης της ωχράς κηλίδας. Είναι ιδρυτής και διαχειριστής του Πολυιατρείου Medica στον ¨Αγιο Στέφανο, στο οποίο και εργάζεται, ένα υπερσύχρονο πολυιατρείο που καλύπτει σχεδόν όλες τις ειδικότητες. Επίσης είναι συνεργάτης του Ιατρικού κέντρου Αθηνών στο Μαρούσι και της Οφθαλμολογικής Κλινικής ΟΜΜΑ.

Ο σκοπός της επίσκεψης ήταν η βεβαίωση για δίπλωμα οδήγησης, καθώς όμως η εξέταση ήταν ουσιαστική, δόθηκε η ευκαιρία να εντοπιστούν προβλήματα με τα γυαλιά, οπότε η επίσκεψη υπήρξε πολλαπλά ωφέλιμη.
