Papathanasiou Sotirios Dr., PhD, FESC, MSc

Dr Papathanasiou Sotirios is a Cardiologist with a private practice in Kolonaki. He holds a PhD from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, with research focusing on atherosclerotic disease and arrhythmias. He has specialized in interventional cardiology and advanced diagnostic imaging ultrasound techniques for cardiovascular pathology, with particular expertise in complex arrhythmias, atrial fibrillation, all valvular heart diseases, and the study of cardiovascular pathology in children. His specific areas of interest include the early diagnosis and management of progressive atherosclerotic disease at all stages, heart failure, as well as pediatric and adult cardiomyopathies. A significant portion of cardiovascular diagnostics is conducted in his cardiology practice – diagnostic laboratory, while more complex diagnostic procedures are performed in collaboration with major medical centers. He collaborates with and serves as the scientific director of departments in leading hospitals in Athens, as well as various diagnostic groups. Additionally, he is a member of the Hellenic Society of Lipidology and Atherosclerosis, the European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions, the Hellenic Cardiological Society, and the European Society of Cardiology.
