Dr. Georgios Tsakotos MD, MSc, PhD
Orthopedic Surgeon - Assistant Professor, Medical School, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens
Georgios Tsakotos was born in Tripoli, Arcadia. After completing secondary education in Tripoli, he was admitted to the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
From 2006 to 2012, he trained as an Orthopedic Surgeon at the 4th Orthopedic Clinic of "KAT" Hospital. He has received further training abroad in sports medicine, arthroscopic and reconstructive orthopedic surgery.
He has participated, presenting papers and lectures, in numerous medical scientific conferences in Greece and abroad. He has authored and published over 100 research scientific articles in peer-reviewed international medical journals.
He holds a distinction as Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) from the Medical School of Athens, a Master's degree (MSc) in metabolic bone diseases – osteoporosis from the Medical School of Athens, is a member of the Hellenic Osteoporosis Foundation (EL.I.OS.), the Hellenic Society of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology (E.E.CH.O.T.), the Hellenic Arthroscopy Society, the Hellenic Society of Anatomy and Surgical Anatomy, is a Full Member of the European Hip Society, a Member of the European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery & Arthroscopy (ESSKA), Member of European Knee Associates (EKA), and an Associate Member of ISAKOS (International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine).
He serves as Assistant Director and Orthopedic Surgeon at the "METROPOLITAN" Hospital, in the Sports Injuries and Reconstructive Orthopedic Surgery department.
He is Assistant Professor at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
