Georgios Bpagias is a General Surgeon, PhD holder from the Medical School of Athens. He completed his medical studies at the Medical School of Athens with "Excellent" marks and undertook his specialty training in Greece and Germany (university clinics of general surgery and transplantation in Hannover and Essen). Concurrently, he completed his doctoral thesis on short bowel syndrome also with "Excellent" marks, while specializing in minimally invasive colorectal surgery at the University of Strasbourg, with an emphasis on modern laparoscopic techniques. Subsequently, he completed specialization in pelvic floor disorder management at the University of Venice.

He is a graduate of the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He completed his military service as a Reserve Lieutenant Medical Officer and fulfilled his Rural Service obligations. He specialized in General Surgery at the Hospital of the Hellenic Red Cross in Athens and, following successful examinations, obtained the title of Surgeon. In 1984, he completed a Doctoral Thesis at the University of Athens, which was unanimously accepted, and was awarded a PhD in Medicine.
