General surgeons

Andrikopoulos Spyros is a General Surgeon and the Director of the Surgical Clinic at the White Cross of Athens. He graduated from the Medical School of the University of Patras and received training at the Piraeus Cancer Hospital "Metaxa," the Nikaia State Hospital, and the Athens General Hospital "Evangelismos." After completing his specialty, he pursued further training in the United Kingdom at Hereford Hospitals NHS Trust, St. James University Hospital, and the “John Goligher” Colorectal Unit, General Infirmary. A significant part of his advanced training in the UK focused on laparoscopic and robotic surgery of the colon and rectum, as well as the management of proctological diseases and pelvic floor disorders. Additionally, he holds certification for the use of the Da Vinci® robotic system (Da Vinci® Surgical System Training Program) from IRCAD / EITS, University of Strasbourg, France. To date, he collaborates with numerous private healthcare facilities in Athens, including the Hygeia Hospital, the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic "Iaso," Metropolitan General Hospital, the Gynecological, Obstetric, and Surgical Center "Leto," and the "Mitera" Hospital. Finally, Dr. Andrikopoulos is a member of numerous Greek and European scientific societies and associations.

Emmanouilidis Mixalis MD MSc FACS is a Surgeon, Senior Consultant of the First Surgical Department at Ygeia Hospital, a Centre of Excellence in Hernia Surgery within the Department of Abdominal Wall Hernia Repair Surgery (SRC).

He specializes in Advanced Minimally Invasive Surgery – Laparoscopic and Robotic – as well as in the Modern Treatment of Anorectal Disorders – Hemorrhoids and Pilonidal Sinus using Laser technology.

He holds a postgraduate degree (MSc) in Surgical Oncology from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.He has received specialization and certification in Laparoscopic Inguinal Hernia Repair with 3D Mesh (TEP and TAPP) from the Royal College of Surgeons, the Surgical Training Institute (STI), and the leading mesh company BD - Bard.

He actively participates in Greek and international Surgical Conferences and Hands-on Workshops, while utilizing the most advanced equipment for the benefit of the patient.

He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

Georgios Bpagias is a General Surgeon, PhD holder from the Medical School of Athens. He completed his medical studies at the Medical School of Athens with "Excellent" marks and undertook his specialty training in Greece and Germany (university clinics of general surgery and transplantation in Hannover and Essen). Concurrently, he completed his doctoral thesis on short bowel syndrome also with "Excellent" marks, while specializing in minimally invasive colorectal surgery at the University of Strasbourg, with an emphasis on modern laparoscopic techniques. Subsequently, he completed specialization in pelvic floor disorder management at the University of Venice.

In his clinical practice, he manages general surgery cases covering a broad spectrum, from minor procedures and routine laparoscopic surgeries to specialized colorectal and pelvic floor surgeries. His primary concern is responsible and evidence-based consultation on all surgical issues, aiming for appropriate guidance and making safe therapeutic decisions.

He maintains active scientific involvement, participating predominantly as a speaker and trainer in international, as well as pan-European and Greek scientific conferences. Additionally, he is the author of numerous scientific publications in international journals indexed in PubMed, reflecting his continuous engagement with scientific documentation and the advancement of surgery.

His philosophy is based on the proper and personalized evaluation of each case, evidence-based decision-making, and the avoidance of unnecessary surgeries when not required. Special emphasis is placed on clear, honest, and understandable communication with the patient, to ensure active participation in the therapeutic process and to foster a sense of safety and trust.

Dimitriadi Katerina is a General Surgeon with a private practice in Koukaki for the past five years. She holds a Medical Degree from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She completed her specialization in General Surgery at G.N.A. Elpis, where she trained in the latest surgical techniques, personally performing numerous surgical procedures and is distinguished for the effective management and handling of emergency cases. She completed a postgraduate degree at the Medical School of Athens on the subject "Breast Diseases." She currently works as a Surgeon at the General and Maternity Hospital REA, one of the most modern hospitals in the country. Additionally, she collaborates with the Psychiko Medical Center as a scientific associate. Darom Aleksandros is a General Surgeon and Doctor of Medicine from the Medical School of the University of Athens, with a private practice in Piraeus. Concurrently, he serves as the Director of the Surgical Department at the METROPOLITAN Private Hospital. He studied at the Medical School of the University of Iași and specialized in General Surgery at the General University Hospital of Athens "Hippocrates." O Αθανάσιος Ξάκης γεννήθηκε στον Πολύγυρο Χαλκιδικής στις 22 Ιανουαρίου του 1994. Φοίτησε με αθλητική και ακολούθως μαθητική υποτροφία στο λύκειο των Εκπαιδευτηρίων Μαντουλίδη από όπου και τελικώς αποφοίτησε με άριστα το 2011. Κατά τη διάρκεια της μαθητικής του πορείας έλαβε αποδοχές και υποτροφίες για φοίτηση σε διακεκριμένα πανεπιστήμια των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών της Αμερικής και του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου. 

Σπούδασε Ιατρική στο Πανεπιστήμιο Ιωαννίνων. Κατά τη διάρκεια των σπουδών του υπήρξε μέλος του Εργαστηρίου Ανατομίας, υπεύθυνος για την εκπαίδευση και την ένταξη νέων φοιτητών ιατρικής καθώς επίσης συμμετείχε σε πληθώρα σεμιναρίων και παρουσιάσεων σε διεθνή συνέδρια. 

Μετά το πέρας των σπουδών του πραγματοποίησε Κλινική Άσκηση στη Χειρουργική στο Faculty of Medicine, Public Health and Nursing, Universitas Gadjah Mada στην Yogyakarta της Ινδονησίας καθώς επίσης και Κλινική Άσκηση στην Αγγειοχειρουργική στο University Medical Centre Utrecht στην Ουτρέχτη της Ολλανδίας. 

Εργάστηκε ως ειδικευόμενος Χειρουργικής στο Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Σερρών για 2 έτη και στη συνέχεια στο Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Θεσσαλονίκης Γ. Παπαγεωργίου για 4 έτη, από όπου και έλαβε τον τίτλο ειδικότητας. Κατά τη διάρκεια της ειδικότητας του συμμετείχε και σε πληθώρα χειρουργείων ως βοηθός χειρουργός του Τμήματος Χειρουργικής Ήπατος Χοληφόρων-Παγκρέατος της Κλινικής Άγιος Λουκάς, στο Πανόραμα Θεσσαλονίκης. 

Μετά την ολοκλήρωση της ειδικότητας μετεκπαιδεύτηκε στη Χειρουργική Ήπατος, Χοληφόρων, Παγκρέατος & Μεταμοσχεύσεων Ήπατος στο Organ Transplantation Center, China Medical University Hospital στην Taichung της Ταϊβάν. 

Από τον Αύγουστο του 2025 εργάζεται ως Επιμελητής Χειρουργός στο Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Θεσσαλονίκης Γ. Παπανικολάου ενώ παράλληλα αποτελεί Συνεργάτη Χειρουργό της Κλινικής Άγιος Λουκάς. 

Είναι μέλος του Ιατρικού Συλλόγου Θεσσαλονίκης (ΙΣΘ), της European Association for Endoscopic Surgery and other Interventional Techniques (EAES) και της Ελληνικής Εταιρείας Τραύματος και Επείγουσας Χειρουργικής (ΕΕΤ&ΕΧ), ενώ υπήρξε και μέλος Οργανωτικών Επιτροπών μεγάλου αριθμού τοπικών και διεθνών Συνεδρίων και Ημερίδων. 

Είναι κάτοχος του Μεταπτυχιακού Διπλώματος Ειδίκευσης στη Χειρουργική Ογκολογία του Πεπτικού Συστήματος του Αριστοτελείου Πανεπιστήμιου Θεσσαλονίκης και υποψήφιος κάτοχος του Μεταπτυχιακού Διπλώματος Ειδίκευσης στον Καρκίνο του Παγκρέατος του Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλίας.

Έχει παρακολουθήσει πληθώρα σεμιναρίων και συνεδρίων τόσο διεθνών όσο και του εξωτερικού, έχει παρουσιάσει ως ομιλητής σημαντικό αριθμό προφορικών ανακοινώσεων με αντίστοιχες τιμητικές διακρίσεις και βραβεία ενώ έχει συμμετάσχει και στη δημοσίευση επιστημονικών άρθρων σε διακεκριμένα περιοδικά του εξωτερικού.

Xatzialis Xalint is a General Surgeon who maintains a private practice in Petroupoli. The doctor has extensive experience in breast and vein diseases, as well as in laparoscopic surgery and laser surgery. Dr. Ioannis Dimitriou, MD, PhD, is a General Surgeon, Certified Oncologic Surgeon, Proctologist, and Minimally Invasive Surgeon, maintaining a private practice in Marousi, Greece. He specializes in Robotic Surgery (Da Vinci X- & XI-System ©INTUITIVE) and holds a PhD from the Medical School of Justus Liebig University in Giessen, Germany. Dr. Dimitriou studied at the Medical School of Justus Liebig University in Giessen, where he also successfully completed his doctoral thesis. He specialized in General and Visceral Surgery at the University Hospital Klinikum Krefeld in Germany and subsequently at the University Hospital and Oncology Center Alfried Krupp Krankenhaus Essen. Specifically, he worked at the following hospitals in the UK: North Middlesex, Arrowe Park, Derriford, Torbay, Exeter, Cheltenham, and North Bristol, as well as at Sir Charles Gairdner University Hospital in Perth, Australia, and Sotiria Hospital in Athens (as Senior Consultant).During the same period, he received advanced training in laparoscopic colorectal surgery and laparoscopic bariatric surgery at Singleton Hospital in Swansea, UK, and Heilighart Ziekenhuis in Roeselare, Belgium.From 2012 to 2021, he worked as a Consultant Surgeon at the following hospitals in the UK: Ealing Hospital, Homerton University Hospital, John Radcliffe & Churchill Hospitals in Oxford, Royal Hampshire County Hospital, Northampton General Hospital, and University Hospitals of Derby and Burton. Drkokkalis Marios - Konstantinos MD, PhD, MSc(c) is a General Surgeon, specialized in Germany and a graduate of the Medical School of Thessaloniki. He has worked in Germany for a decade, where he served as Consultant and Head of the Abdominal Wall Hernia Department at the Surgical Clinic and Transplant Center of the University of Tübingen, where he also earned his PhD on Colorectal Cancer. Additionally, he is the Treasurer of the Hellenic Hernia Society.
