General surgeons

Andrikopoulos Spyros is a General Surgeon and the Director of the Surgical Clinic at the White Cross of Athens. He graduated from the Medical School of the University of Patras and received training at the Piraeus Cancer Hospital "Metaxa," the Nikaia State Hospital, and the Athens General Hospital "Evangelismos." After completing his specialty, he pursued further training in the United Kingdom at Hereford Hospitals NHS Trust, St. James University Hospital, and the “John Goligher” Colorectal Unit, General Infirmary. A significant part of his advanced training in the UK focused on laparoscopic and robotic surgery of the colon and rectum, as well as the management of proctological diseases and pelvic floor disorders. Additionally, he holds certification for the use of the Da Vinci® robotic system (Da Vinci® Surgical System Training Program) from IRCAD / EITS, University of Strasbourg, France. To date, he collaborates with numerous private healthcare facilities in Athens, including the Hygeia Hospital, the Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic "Iaso," Metropolitan General Hospital, the Gynecological, Obstetric, and Surgical Center "Leto," and the "Mitera" Hospital. Finally, Dr. Andrikopoulos is a member of numerous Greek and European scientific societies and associations.

O Αθανάσιος Ξάκης γεννήθηκε στον Πολύγυρο Χαλκιδικής στις 22 Ιανουαρίου του 1994. Φοίτησε με αθλητική και ακολούθως μαθητική υποτροφία στο λύκειο των Εκπαιδευτηρίων Μαντουλίδη από όπου και τελικώς αποφοίτησε με άριστα το 2011. Κατά τη διάρκεια της μαθητικής του πορείας έλαβε αποδοχές και υποτροφίες για φοίτηση σε διακεκριμένα πανεπιστήμια των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών της Αμερικής και του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου. 

Σπούδασε Ιατρική στο Πανεπιστήμιο Ιωαννίνων. Κατά τη διάρκεια των σπουδών του υπήρξε μέλος του Εργαστηρίου Ανατομίας, υπεύθυνος για την εκπαίδευση και την ένταξη νέων φοιτητών ιατρικής καθώς επίσης συμμετείχε σε πληθώρα σεμιναρίων και παρουσιάσεων σε διεθνή συνέδρια. 

Μετά το πέρας των σπουδών του πραγματοποίησε Κλινική Άσκηση στη Χειρουργική στο Faculty of Medicine, Public Health and Nursing, Universitas Gadjah Mada στην Yogyakarta της Ινδονησίας καθώς επίσης και Κλινική Άσκηση στην Αγγειοχειρουργική στο University Medical Centre Utrecht στην Ουτρέχτη της Ολλανδίας. 

Εργάστηκε ως ειδικευόμενος Χειρουργικής στο Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Σερρών για 2 έτη και στη συνέχεια στο Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Θεσσαλονίκης Γ. Παπαγεωργίου για 4 έτη, από όπου και έλαβε τον τίτλο ειδικότητας. Κατά τη διάρκεια της ειδικότητας του συμμετείχε και σε πληθώρα χειρουργείων ως βοηθός χειρουργός του Τμήματος Χειρουργικής Ήπατος Χοληφόρων-Παγκρέατος της Κλινικής Άγιος Λουκάς, στο Πανόραμα Θεσσαλονίκης. 

Μετά την ολοκλήρωση της ειδικότητας μετεκπαιδεύτηκε στη Χειρουργική Ήπατος, Χοληφόρων, Παγκρέατος & Μεταμοσχεύσεων Ήπατος στο Organ Transplantation Center, China Medical University Hospital στην Taichung της Ταϊβάν. 

Από τον Αύγουστο του 2025 εργάζεται ως Επιμελητής Χειρουργός στο Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Θεσσαλονίκης Γ. Παπανικολάου ενώ παράλληλα αποτελεί Συνεργάτη Χειρουργό της Κλινικής Άγιος Λουκάς. 

Είναι μέλος του Ιατρικού Συλλόγου Θεσσαλονίκης (ΙΣΘ), της European Association for Endoscopic Surgery and other Interventional Techniques (EAES) και της Ελληνικής Εταιρείας Τραύματος και Επείγουσας Χειρουργικής (ΕΕΤ&ΕΧ), ενώ υπήρξε και μέλος Οργανωτικών Επιτροπών μεγάλου αριθμού τοπικών και διεθνών Συνεδρίων και Ημερίδων. 

Είναι κάτοχος του Μεταπτυχιακού Διπλώματος Ειδίκευσης στη Χειρουργική Ογκολογία του Πεπτικού Συστήματος του Αριστοτελείου Πανεπιστήμιου Θεσσαλονίκης και υποψήφιος κάτοχος του Μεταπτυχιακού Διπλώματος Ειδίκευσης στον Καρκίνο του Παγκρέατος του Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλίας.

Έχει παρακολουθήσει πληθώρα σεμιναρίων και συνεδρίων τόσο διεθνών όσο και του εξωτερικού, έχει παρουσιάσει ως ομιλητής σημαντικό αριθμό προφορικών ανακοινώσεων με αντίστοιχες τιμητικές διακρίσεις και βραβεία ενώ έχει συμμετάσχει και στη δημοσίευση επιστημονικών άρθρων σε διακεκριμένα περιοδικά του εξωτερικού.

Ο Δρ. Παναγιώτης Βούλγαρης είναι Γενικός Χειρουργός με πάνω από 35 χρόνια κλινικής και χειρουργικής εμπειρίας και περίπου 5.000 επεμβάσεις. Είναι Διευθυντής της Α' Χειρουργικής Κλινικής του Σισμανογλείου Νοσοκομείου και συνεργάτης του Metropolitan General και του Therapis General Hospital.Αποφοίτησε από την Ιατρική Σχολή με βαθμό Άριστα. Υπηρέτησε στο 251 Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Αεροπορίας και ολοκλήρωσε την ειδικότητά του στη Β' Χειρουργική Κλινική του Νοσοκομείου «Ευαγγελισμός». Είναι Διδάκτωρ της Ιατρικής Σχολής.Από το 1996 έως το 2012 διετέλεσε Επιμελητής στο Νοσοκομείο Παπαδημητρίου και από το 2012 είναι Διευθυντής της Α' Χειρουργικής Κλινικής.Έχει μετεκπαιδευτεί στις ελάχιστα επεμβατικές χειρουργικές τεχνικές (Minimally Invasive Techniques), όπως η θυρεοειδεκτομή, στο IRCAD της Γαλλίας, καθώς και στην ενδοσκοπική χειρουργική στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Montpellier στη Γαλλία.Διαθέτει ερευνητικό και συγγραφικό έργο, με συμμετοχή σε ερευνητική δραστηριότητα της M.Z.C.P./WHO και δημοσιεύσεις σε ελληνικά και διεθνή επιστημονικά περιοδικά.Η πολυετής του πορεία χαρακτηρίζεται από προσήλωση στην ασφάλεια, την ακρίβεια και την ανθρώπινη φροντίδα, με εξειδίκευση στη λαπαροσκοπική, ενδοκρινολογική και ογκολογική χειρουργική.

Ziozia Vasiliki is a General Surgeon, Senior Registrar of the 1st Surgical Clinic at IASO and maintains a private practice in Nea Irakleio. She holds a degree from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and a Master's degree in "Surgical Anatomy" from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Dr. Ziozia has received a scholarship from the Hellenic Surgical Society to obtain her postgraduate degree, as well as a scholarship from the Hellenic Society of Coloproctology for specialization in colorectal and anal surgery at St Thomas’ Hospital in London. She initially specialized in Surgery at the General Hospital of Rethymno and subsequently at the General Hospital of Athens "Evangelismos." During 2022-23, she served as a Senior Clinical Fellow in the Colorectal Department at St Thomas’ Hospital in London. Dr. Ziozia has participated in numerous conferences, seminars, and courses and has authored many publications, as well as oral and poster presentations. Finally, she is a member of the Hellenic Society of Coloproctology.

Ampntin Ramex Iosif is a General Surgeon maintaining private practices in Elefsina and Pagkrati. He is a graduate and specialist of the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Additionally, he has worked as a General Surgeon at the First Aid Station of the Elefsina Health Center. He manages a wide range of cases including: pilonidal cysts, hemorrhoids, condylomas, onychomycosis, scars, foot calluses, and nevi. Finally, he has significant experience and training, specializing in Laparoscopic Surgery, Proctology, and Hernia Surgery.

Dr. Theodoropoulos Dionysios is a General Surgeon with 19 years of extensive experience in a wide range of surgical procedures, including both laparoscopic and open methods. He specializes in laparoscopic excision of the pilonidal cyst, the management and treatment of hemorrhoids, and cholecystectomy procedures. He holds a Diploma of License (MD) from the Medical School of "Universitatea de Medicina si Farmacie GR T POPA" and has obtained medical practice licenses in Greece, Sweden, Spain, and Romania. During his General Surgery specialization, he completed advanced training in the Vascular Surgery Department at Konstantopouleio General Hospital and in the Plastic Surgery Department at the Oncology Hospital of Ag. Anargyroi. At Konstantopouleio General Hospital, he served as the primary surgeon or first surgical assistant in a wide range of laparoscopic and open surgical procedures. He has worked in the Emergency Department and was responsible for postoperative monitoring and treatment of patients with liver and pancreatic cancer. He manages numerous cases by leveraging his scientific expertise and extensive experience, always focusing on providing the best possible care tailored to the individual needs of each patient he treats.

Andreas Tellos is a General Surgeon who maintains a private practice in Chalandri. He is a graduate of the Medical School of the University of Athens and has extensive experience in both the public and private sectors. Additionally, Dr. Tellos serves as an auxiliary surgeon at the Lavrio Health Center and actively participates in the on-call program and regular surgeries of the 2nd Surgical Clinic of the General Hospital of Athens “Sismanoglio.” He has worked as a resident and attending physician in the Surgical Clinic of “Sismanoglio,” and has also worked as a private physician in private clinics and diagnostic centers. Minotakis Konstantinos is a General Surgeon who maintains a private practice in Marousi. He graduated from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, where he was admitted in 1973 with a scholarship. Following his medical studies and rural service, he specialized in General Surgery at the Hellenic Red Cross Hospital. He served for 30 years in the Surgical Clinic and Vascular Clinic of the 7th IKA Hospital, the Surgical Clinic of the General Thoracic Diseases Hospital of Athens "Sotiria," and the General Hospital of Nea Ionia "Konstantopouleio," from which he retired with the rank of Director. He graduated from the Medical School of the University of Milan. He specialized in General Surgery at "G. Gennimatas" Hospital and received further training in Laparoscopic Surgery and Robotic Surgery using the da Vinci system at the IRCAD-EITS training center in Strasbourg. Additionally, he has been trained in emergency pre-hospital medicine at EKAV. Finally, he is a regular member of the Hellenic Surgical Society.

Koutsogiorgas Paris is a General Surgeon and maintains a private practice in Psychiko, within the Psychiko Medical Center. He graduated from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and completed his specialty training at the 2nd University Surgical Clinic of Laiko Hospital in Athens. He holds a doctoral degree with honors from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He has received further training at leading international centers, including the Cleveland Clinic Foundation and Ohio State. He maintains a private practice in Agia Paraskevi and performs surgeries at private hospitals in Athens.

Georgios Sarris MD, MSc, is a General Surgeon, Deputy Director of the 3rd Surgical Clinic at Errikos Dynan Hospital, with a private practice in Nea Erythraia. He has completed postgraduate studies in Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). He further trained in minimally invasive management of anorectal diseases (Laser LHP, SiLaC, FiLaC) in Germany, as well as in Laparoscopic Surgery. He specialized in the 2nd Surgical Clinic of K.A.T. Hospital. Finally, he has participated in numerous national and international medical conferences.

Ioanna Papadopoulou is a General Surgeon and maintains private practices in Cholargos and Glyfada. She performs exclusively laparoscopic surgery for benign and malignant conditions of the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract, gallbladder and bile ducts, as well as all types of abdominal wall hernias. She received her Medical Degree from the “Gr. T. Popa” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Iasi in 2012. She completed her rural service at the General Hospital of Messinia – Kyparissia Nursing Unit in 2013–2014. In 2021, she obtained her surgical specialty certification.

During her specialty training, she served at the 417 Army Fund Nursing Institution (N.I.M.T.S), where she specialized in advanced laparoscopic surgery for malignant colon diseases, obesity, reflux, and hernias, as well as thyroid malignancies. Additionally, at the Sismanogleio General Hospital of Athens, she participated in a large volume of colon and thyroid cancer surgeries. Considering that the present of surgery lies in laparoscopic and robotic techniques, she attended advanced laparoscopic seminars organized by ELPEN under the auspices of the Hellenic Surgical Society from 2016 to 2018.

In 2021, she completed further training in Surgical Oncology, earning a Master of Science (MSc) degree from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Finally, in 2023, she received additional training in the latest methods for managing complex diaphragmatic hernias and reflux at the Symposium on Innovation in Surgery in Malta.

Dr Liagkos Th Georgios MD, PhD is a General Surgeon - Proctologist, graduate of the Medical School of Patras, and has been awarded a PhD with honors from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He is the Head of the 2nd Surgical Clinic for Anorectal Diseases at the Lumedica group and serves as a Scientific Collaborator Surgeon - Proctologist at Metropolitan Hospital in Neo Faliro and at Therapis in Athens. He also maintains private practices in Aigaleo and Lamia. He is a certified member of the American College of Surgeons (ATLS - ACS Committee on Trauma) and an active member of the Hellenic Surgical Society, the Hellenic Society of Endoscopic Surgery and Other Minimally Invasive Techniques, the Hellenic Society of Coloproctology, and the Hellenic Phlebology Society. He has specialized in Anorectal Surgery and Intestinal Surgery at the General State Hospital of Nikaia and has received further training in Advanced Laparoscopic Surgery and Minimally Invasive Surgery for abdominal wall hernias. Additionally, he is certified in the use of modern laser fiber optics, radiofrequency (RF), and ultrasound (HAL) in the surgical management of anorectal diseases (pilonidal cyst, hemorrhoids, perianal fistula-abscess, anal fissure, condylomas). Annually, he lectures and participates with presentations at numerous postgraduate seminars and conferences abroad and in Greece, staying updated primarily on the latest advancements in proctology and minimally invasive surgery. Since 2017, he has served as a reviewer for the American surgical journal Trauma Cases and Reviews and in 2023 published the world’s first report with new data on the contemporary management of pilonidal cysts using laser with the new Infinate Ring fiber.

Ioannis Koutelidakis is a General Surgeon and maintains his private practice in Thessaloniki. He graduated from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and fulfilled his rural service in his birthplace, Rethymno, Crete. He began his specialty training in General Surgery at the Air Force Hospital and completed it in April 2004 at the 2nd Surgical Clinic of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, after which he was awarded the title of General Surgeon following examinations. The physician has been awarded a PhD from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Subsequently, he was appointed Lecturer at the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and assigned to the 2nd Surgical Clinic at "G. Gennimatas" Hospital. He has undergone further training in centers domestically and abroad (Scotland, Belgium, France) in laparoscopic surgery. He also attended the Endocrine Surgery Department at Hammersmith Hospital in London for one month and subsequently completed the annual endocrine surgery training program at Gemelli Hospital in Rome, where he received a Master's diploma in endocrine surgery. During the aforementioned program, he trained in thyroid and parathyroid surgery, both classical and minimally invasive, as well as adrenal surgery, both open and laparoscopic. He also gained training in cervical lymph node dissection for thyroid cancer cases. Simultaneously, he trained in cervical and thyroid ultrasonography and fine needle aspiration biopsy of the thyroid with ultrasound guidance. Upon his appointment as Lecturer, the physician actively participates in the clinical training of Medical School students in Surgery and the education of General Surgery residents, and he has contributed to Greek and international publications in Greek and international medical journals.

Vitsas Apostolos MD is a General Surgeon, Director of the "Cosmoclinic" Clinic in Piraeus, and maintains a private practice in Kallithea. He has specialized in general surgery at the 2nd Surgical Clinic of the General Hospital of Piraeus "Tzaneio," as well as at the Pediatric Surgery Clinic of the same hospital, while also specializing in Laparoscopic and Minimally Invasive Surgery.
