General surgeons

Ioannis Koutelidakis is a General Surgeon and maintains his private practice in Thessaloniki. He graduated from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and fulfilled his rural service in his birthplace, Rethymno, Crete. He began his specialty training in General Surgery at the Air Force Hospital and completed it in April 2004 at the 2nd Surgical Clinic of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, after which he was awarded the title of General Surgeon following examinations. The physician has been awarded a PhD from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Subsequently, he was appointed Lecturer at the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and assigned to the 2nd Surgical Clinic at "G. Gennimatas" Hospital. He has undergone further training in centers domestically and abroad (Scotland, Belgium, France) in laparoscopic surgery. He also attended the Endocrine Surgery Department at Hammersmith Hospital in London for one month and subsequently completed the annual endocrine surgery training program at Gemelli Hospital in Rome, where he received a Master's diploma in endocrine surgery. During the aforementioned program, he trained in thyroid and parathyroid surgery, both classical and minimally invasive, as well as adrenal surgery, both open and laparoscopic. He also gained training in cervical lymph node dissection for thyroid cancer cases. Simultaneously, he trained in cervical and thyroid ultrasonography and fine needle aspiration biopsy of the thyroid with ultrasound guidance. Upon his appointment as Lecturer, the physician actively participates in the clinical training of Medical School students in Surgery and the education of General Surgery residents, and he has contributed to Greek and international publications in Greek and international medical journals.

Georgios Sarris MD, MSc, is a General Surgeon, Deputy Director of the 3rd Surgical Clinic at Errikos Dynan Hospital, with a private practice in Nea Erythraia. He has completed postgraduate studies in Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA). He further trained in minimally invasive management of anorectal diseases (Laser LHP, SiLaC, FiLaC) in Germany, as well as in Laparoscopic Surgery. He specialized in the 2nd Surgical Clinic of K.A.T. Hospital. Finally, he has participated in numerous national and international medical conferences.

Dimitriadi Katerina is a General Surgeon with a private practice in Koukaki for the past five years. She holds a Medical Degree from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She completed her specialization in General Surgery at G.N.A. Elpis, where she trained in the latest surgical techniques, personally performing numerous surgical procedures and is distinguished for the effective management and handling of emergency cases. She completed a postgraduate degree at the Medical School of Athens on the subject "Breast Diseases." She currently works as a Surgeon at the General and Maternity Hospital REA, one of the most modern hospitals in the country. Additionally, she collaborates with the Psychiko Medical Center as a scientific associate. In her practice, she manages a wide range of cases and minor procedures, always focusing on providing the best possible care tailored to the individualized needs of each patient.

Dr. Kexagias Aristotelis MD, PhD, FACS is a General Surgeon with a subspecialty in Advanced Laparoscopic and Endocrine Surgery, as well as Laser procedures. He is a summa cum laude Doctor of the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He holds two specialty certifications (double specialty): General Surgery (Athens) and Laparoscopic Surgery of the Gastrointestinal Tract and Endocrine Glands, following postgraduate training at the University Hospital of Tampere, Finland. He has received further training at leading international centers in laparoscopic surgery and thyroid/parathyroid surgery, including the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden, UMC Utrecht in the Netherlands, and Rudolfstiftung in Vienna. He also completed advanced training in modern minimally invasive Laser techniques at the Tor Vergata University Hospital in Rome. He is certified in advanced laparoscopic surgery by IRCAD France in Strasbourg. He is a member of numerous Greek and international surgical scientific societies and the American College of Surgeons. He has participated as an invited speaker in many international and national conferences. He maintains a private practice in Agia Paraskevi and performs surgeries at private hospitals in Athens.

Dr. Xaveles Ioannis MD, cMS, PhD is a General Surgeon with a private practice in Patras. He holds a doctorate from the University of Patras and graduated from the Medical School of Democritus University of Thrace. He specialized in General Surgery at the University Hospital of Rio in Patras, as well as in the Plastic Surgery Clinic at the General Hospital of Agios Andreas in Patras. Additionally, he holds a postgraduate degree in Breast Surgery from the University Regional Hospital of Brighton, United Kingdom, along with formal training in Breast Surgery, Oncoplastic Surgery, and Breast Reconstruction from the British College of Surgeons in the UK. He served as a regular member of the Scientific Council and the Ethics Committee of the University Hospital of Patras for two years, and since 2016, he has been a full member of the British Breast Surgery Society. Drkokkalis Marios - Konstantinos MD, PhD, MSc(c) is a General Surgeon, specialized in Germany and a graduate of the Medical School of Thessaloniki. He has worked in Germany for a decade, where he served as Consultant and Head of the Abdominal Wall Hernia Department at the Surgical Clinic and Transplant Center of the University of Tübingen, where he also earned his PhD on Colorectal Cancer. Additionally, he is the Treasurer of the Hellenic Hernia Society. The doctor has managed numerous cases across the full scope of General Surgery with an emphasis on Laparoscopic Surgery, and it is noteworthy to highlight his expertise in Advanced Surgery of Abdominal Wall Hernias, Colorectal Surgery, and Proctology.

Maria Mixailidou MD, FACS, FASCRS is a General Surgeon maintaining a private practice within the HYGEIA Hospital in Marousi. She studied at the Medical School of the University of Patras and continued her medical training in the USA. There, she conducted clinical research in the Department of Emergency Surgery, Trauma, and Critical Care at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, under Harvard University, and specialized in General Surgery at the University of Arizona. Additionally, she specialized in Colon and Rectal Surgery at Penn State University. She is board-certified by the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery and by the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery. She possesses significant clinical experience having worked in clinics in the USA, as well as extensive scientific and research experience, reflected in numerous publications in international scientific journals and chapters she has authored in international surgical textbooks.

O Αθανάσιος Ξάκης γεννήθηκε στον Πολύγυρο Χαλκιδικής στις 22 Ιανουαρίου του 1994. Φοίτησε με αθλητική και ακολούθως μαθητική υποτροφία στο λύκειο των Εκπαιδευτηρίων Μαντουλίδη από όπου και τελικώς αποφοίτησε με άριστα το 2011. Κατά τη διάρκεια της μαθητικής του πορείας έλαβε αποδοχές και υποτροφίες για φοίτηση σε διακεκριμένα πανεπιστήμια των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών της Αμερικής και του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου. 

Σπούδασε Ιατρική στο Πανεπιστήμιο Ιωαννίνων. Κατά τη διάρκεια των σπουδών του υπήρξε μέλος του Εργαστηρίου Ανατομίας, υπεύθυνος για την εκπαίδευση και την ένταξη νέων φοιτητών ιατρικής καθώς επίσης συμμετείχε σε πληθώρα σεμιναρίων και παρουσιάσεων σε διεθνή συνέδρια. 

Μετά το πέρας των σπουδών του πραγματοποίησε Κλινική Άσκηση στη Χειρουργική στο Faculty of Medicine, Public Health and Nursing, Universitas Gadjah Mada στην Yogyakarta της Ινδονησίας καθώς επίσης και Κλινική Άσκηση στην Αγγειοχειρουργική στο University Medical Centre Utrecht στην Ουτρέχτη της Ολλανδίας. 

Εργάστηκε ως ειδικευόμενος Χειρουργικής στο Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Σερρών για 2 έτη και στη συνέχεια στο Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Θεσσαλονίκης Γ. Παπαγεωργίου για 4 έτη, από όπου και έλαβε τον τίτλο ειδικότητας. Κατά τη διάρκεια της ειδικότητας του συμμετείχε και σε πληθώρα χειρουργείων ως βοηθός χειρουργός του Τμήματος Χειρουργικής Ήπατος Χοληφόρων-Παγκρέατος της Κλινικής Άγιος Λουκάς, στο Πανόραμα Θεσσαλονίκης. 

Μετά την ολοκλήρωση της ειδικότητας μετεκπαιδεύτηκε στη Χειρουργική Ήπατος, Χοληφόρων, Παγκρέατος & Μεταμοσχεύσεων Ήπατος στο Organ Transplantation Center, China Medical University Hospital στην Taichung της Ταϊβάν. 

Από τον Αύγουστο του 2025 εργάζεται ως Επιμελητής Χειρουργός στο Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Θεσσαλονίκης Γ. Παπανικολάου ενώ παράλληλα αποτελεί Συνεργάτη Χειρουργό της Κλινικής Άγιος Λουκάς. 

Είναι μέλος του Ιατρικού Συλλόγου Θεσσαλονίκης (ΙΣΘ), της European Association for Endoscopic Surgery and other Interventional Techniques (EAES) και της Ελληνικής Εταιρείας Τραύματος και Επείγουσας Χειρουργικής (ΕΕΤ&ΕΧ), ενώ υπήρξε και μέλος Οργανωτικών Επιτροπών μεγάλου αριθμού τοπικών και διεθνών Συνεδρίων και Ημερίδων. 

Είναι κάτοχος του Μεταπτυχιακού Διπλώματος Ειδίκευσης στη Χειρουργική Ογκολογία του Πεπτικού Συστήματος του Αριστοτελείου Πανεπιστήμιου Θεσσαλονίκης και υποψήφιος κάτοχος του Μεταπτυχιακού Διπλώματος Ειδίκευσης στον Καρκίνο του Παγκρέατος του Πανεπιστημίου Θεσσαλίας.

Anastasakou Kornilia MD, FEBS (Breast Surgery) is a Mastologist - Oncological Breast Surgeon and maintains a private practice in Ampelokipoi. She holds a medical degree and was a scholar at the Universities of Munich and Berlin. She specialized in modern mastology and breast surgery, with an emphasis on oncoplastic breast-conserving and reconstructive techniques at the accredited Breast Centers St. Marienkrankenhaus Frankfurt and Bethesda Krankenhaus Düsseldorf. She holds the European Certification in Breast Surgery (FEBS-Breast Surgery). Since 2005, she was among the first to introduce oncoplastic breast-conserving techniques with good aesthetic outcomes in Greece. She has been invited to teach these techniques to younger colleagues and has repeatedly published her results (both aesthetic and oncological). In 2013, her work on oncoplastic surgery was awarded by the Hellenic Society of Breast Surgery as the first in Greece with oncological outcomes. She has extensive experience in core needle biopsy, which helps avoid unnecessary surgeries. Currently, Dr. Anastasakou Kornilia is the Director Breast Surgeon at Athens Medical Center in Marousi.

Darom Aleksandros is a General Surgeon and Doctor of Medicine from the Medical School of the University of Athens, with a private practice in Piraeus. Concurrently, he serves as the Director of the Surgical Department at the METROPOLITAN Private Hospital. Ntourakis Dimitrios MD, PhD, FACS is a General Surgeon maintaining a private practice in Paleo Faliro. He is a Professor of Surgery at the European University of Cyprus and the Director of the Minimally Invasive Surgery Clinic at Iatriko Paleo Faliro. He holds a PhD from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and is a graduate of the same institution’s Medical School. Kyziridis Dimitrios is a General Surgeon who maintains a private practice in Thessaloniki. He holds a PhD from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.). Additionally, he is a Diplomate of the European Society of Surgical Oncology for the management of peritoneal malignancy and a collaborator of the peritoneal malignancy program at the Euromedica Cyan Cross clinic, while also specializing in the treatment of anal diseases. Stefanou Xristos MD, MSc, PhDc is a Breast Surgeon specializing in the full spectrum of breast diseases, from prevention and diagnosis to the most advanced surgical procedures.

She graduated from the Medical School of the University of Athens and became a certified general surgeon after successful board examination on 2024, after completion of her specialty training at the General Hospital of Athens "Evaggelismos".
