Alivizatos Vasileios MD, PhD is a general surgeon, Doctor of Medicine from the Medical School of the University of Patras, and former Coordinating Director of the Surgical Clinic at the General Hospital of Patras "Saint Andrew," where he served for a total of 36 years as a specialized surgeon.
During his career, he received advanced training in liver-biliary-pancreatic surgery in Bern, Switzerland; new hernia repair techniques in Mechelen, Belgium; and Artificial Nutrition (Parenteral, Enteral) in Manchester, United Kingdom.
He has attended numerous advanced training seminars in the USA and has participated in 139 medical conferences (74 in Greece, 65 abroad, mainly Europe, USA, Asia), presenting scientific clinical studies as well as delivering lectures and talks upon invitation by medical societies. Furthermore, he has 124 publications of clinical studies in Greek and international medical journals and books, with 4 of his published studies in international medical journals cited 119 times in studies by foreign authors (citation index).
He has extensive experience in surgical procedures of minor and moderate severity (hernias, pilonidal cyst, lipomas, biliary diseases, anal conditions, etc.), as well as major surgeries (benign and malignant diseases of the stomach, small and large intestine, kidney, uterus, ovaries) and benign and malignant diseases of the pancreas (chronic pancreatitis, pancreatic tumors, pancreaticoduodenectomies Whipple).
Currently, he practices in the private sector, covering the full spectrum of general surgery as well as Artificial Nutrition (Parenteral and Enteral, gastrostomies, enterostomies) for patients with chronic conditions who are unable to be fed orally.
