Georgios Barmpounakis is a Pathologist who maintains a private practice in Pangrati. He is a graduate of the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He specialized at the General Hospital of Athens "Evangelismos," in the Intensive Care Unit, the Infarction Unit of the 2nd Cardiology Clinic, and the Endocrinology Department of Diabetes and Metabolism. During his service at the 1st Pathology - Infectious Diseases Clinic, he specialized as a Pathologist. Concurrently with his specialization, he began a doctoral dissertation at the University Department of Intensive Care at the General Hospital of Athens "Evangelismos," focusing on "Aspiration during mechanical ventilation and early ARDS management." He obtained his Pathology specialty title in 2012. He has been an active member of the voluntary social mission clinic of the Athens Medical Association. Notably, he was awarded by the Athens Medical Association with the "Volunteering and Continuous Social Effort" Award for his work. Additionally, he participated in the committee of the Athens Medical Association for the continuous evaluation of disability issues and the Certification Committees of Disability (KEPA). In the context of continuous medical education, he has attended numerous scientific conferences, both international and national. In 2018, following advanced training seminars, he was certified by the National Sports Research Center in pre-competition athlete screening. Finally, since 2024, he has been responsible for public relations, press, and information of the Professional Association of Pathologists of Greece and serves as a board member.
