Makris Xaris is an Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in Orthopedics and maintains a private clinic in Nikaia. He specialized in Orthopedics & Traumatology at the Orthopedic Clinic of the University of Ioannina, where he had previously trained in General Surgery and obtained his Medical degree. Additionally, he was a Clinical Fellow at the Sports Traumatology and Joint Surgery Center of ATOS KLINIK, focusing primarily on knee surgery, ligament injuries, and arthroscopic surgery. Concurrently, he was a Research Fellow at the Immunology Laboratory of Ruprecht-Karls University in Germany, participating in the research program "Quantitative determination of cytokines in the synovial fluid of patients with anterior cruciate ligament rupture, as a prognostic factor for the future development of osteoarthritis." Notably, he was the first orthopedic specialist fellow at ATOS KLINIK and Karl Ruprecht University in Germany. Furthermore, he is a founding member of the Hellenic Arthroscopy Society and a member of the Hellenic Society of Orthopedic Surgery & Traumatology (HSSOT), the Hellenic Society of Reconstructive Microsurgery (HSRM), the European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy (ESSKA 2000), and the International Cartilage Repair Society (ICRS). Lastly, he has participated in numerous educational scientific conferences and seminars, many of which he attended as an instructor.
