Dr Antoniadis Solon

Dr Solon N. Antoniades is a Vascular Surgeon, Angiologist and Endovascular Surgeon, holds a medical doctorate from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU), and runs a private practice in Veria, Greece. Since September 2026, he has relocated permanently to Greece following many years of training and clinical practice in Germany, while retaining a position as Senior Physician (Oberarzt) at LMU University Hospital Munich.

He studied medicine and completed his doctoral research at LMU. He served as Senior Physician at ISAR Klinikum Munich, taking on additional management and organisational responsibilities from 2023. In 2021, he obtained the “Endovaskulärer Chirurg” certification from the German Society for Vascular Surgery and Vascular Medicine (DGG). He has extensive experience in endovascular and open vascular surgery, with publications in international scientific journals, presentations at medical conferences and teaching experience in atherectomy techniques.

He provides diagnosis, follow-up and treatment of aortic aneurysms and carotid artery stenosis, as well as care for peripheral arterial disease, acute and chronic lower limb ischaemia, and diabetic foot disease. His experience encompasses both modern endovascular techniques and open surgical repair, selecting the appropriate approach for each patient.

He also treats arterial thrombosis and embolism, venous thrombosis, varicose veins, spider veins and chronic venous insufficiency. Treatment options include endovenous laser treatment for varicose veins and liquid or foam sclerotherapy, according to clinical indications. He also provides assessment, creation and revision of vascular access for haemodialysis, including arteriovenous fistulas and grafts, and manages vascular emergencies.

At his practice, clinical examination and vascular ultrasound (triplex) are performed to assess arterial and venous circulation and plan treatment.

For patients who have difficulty travelling or attending the practice, home visits with vascular examination and triplex ultrasound are available by prior arrangement. The visit includes a clinical examination and assessment of circulation using a portable ultrasound system suitable for vascular triplex examinations, in the patient's home.

For hospital care and surgical procedures, he collaborates with Evangelismos Clinic in Veria and St Luke’s Hospital in Thessaloniki.

His priority is to listen to each patient's concerns, explain findings clearly and recommend appropriate care based on scientific evidence and individual needs. He takes time to discuss treatment options and answer questions, helping patients participate actively in decisions about their health.
