Επισκέφτηκα τον γιατρό μετά από την προτροπή του συζύγου μου που εξετάστηκε για ανανέωση διπλώματος οδήγησης και έμεινε πολύ ευχαριστημένος. Ακόμα είχα πολύ καλές συστάσεις και από άλλους δύο γνωστούς μου που τους εξετάζει. Από την αρχή της εξέτασης ένιωσα ασφάλεια και εμπιστοσύνη για το πρόβλημα της φλεβαρίτιδας- ξηροφλαμίας που με ταλαιπωρεί. Ρώτησε το ιστορικό του προβλήματός μου και διερεύνησε σε βάθος την περίπτωσή μου εξηγώντας μου κατανοητά το καθετί. Μου έδωσε σαφείς οδηγίες και λύση για την αντιμετώπιση του προβλήματος.

    Έχω οικογενειακό ιστορικό γλαυκωματος(πατερας). Είμαι 60 ετών. Η πίεση μου ήταν μεταξύ 18 και 21. Μετρήθηκαν χθες και είχα 23. Πρέπει να ανησυχησω και να ακολουθήσω καποθα αγωγη;

    • Η ενδοφθάλμια πίεση είναι ένας από τους σημαντικότερους παράγοντες κινδύνου της πάθησης που λέγεται γλαύκωμα. Από μόνη της όμως η μέτρηση της πίεσης δεν είναι αρκετή για να μπει η διάγνωση και να ξεκινήσει η αγωγή. Πολύ περισσότερο όταν γνωρίζουμε ότι η αγωγή αυτή θα είναι ... "ισόβια". Θα πρέπει να γίνει ένα σύνολο εξετάσεων (βυθοσκόπηση, γωνιοσκόπηση, παχυμετρία, εξέταση οπτικών πεδίων, τομογραφία οπτικών νεύρων) για να διαπιστώσει ο οφθαλμίατρος αν υπάρχει όντως πρόβλημα γλαυκώματος και να ξεκινήσει η αγωγή.
