Romanou Katia

Romanou Katia is a Dentist and has maintained a private practice in Kallithea since 1989. In 1992, she was awarded a Doctorate from the University of Athens in the field of Preventive and Community Dentistry. She holds a degree in Dentistry from the Dental School of the University of Athens and continued with a three-year postgraduate program (Master of Arts) in Toronto, Canada. For over 30 years, she has specialized in dentistry for children and adults with special needs. She has extensive scientific activity, including presentations at and attendance of numerous conferences in Greece and abroad, and has published articles in the Greek medical press on topics related to prevention and holistic dentistry. She is a founding member of the non-profit organization OD.ET.E.AS. (Dental Society for the Study and Support of Persons with Special Needs) and served on its Board of Directors from its establishment in 1992 until 1998. She is a member of the European Academy of Paediatric Dentistry, the Hellenic Society of Paediatric Dentistry, and other Greek and international scientific societies. Finally, she has organized and participated in voluntary oral health promotion programs in dozens of schools and other community groups, including the organization of a free dental treatment program using the mobile dental unit of OD.ET.E.AS. in institutions and schools for individuals with special needs during 1992-1996, where she also provided voluntary therapeutic dental services.
