Dr. Pouxner Karolos is a Pathologist and maintains a private practice in Koukaki. He graduated from the Medical University of Vienna, Austria, in 2005, holding a Master's Degree in "International Health" and a Diploma in Tropical Medicine and Public Health from the Medical University of Berlin. Additionally, he earned a Doctorate from the Medical School of the University of Freiburg, Germany, in 2010. He completed his specialty training in Internal Pathology at university hospitals in Berlin and has been continuously working since 2006 in various fields of clinical medicine, public, and international health. As a pathologist, he has received further training and possesses extensive experience in the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of chronic diseases such as Diabetes Mellitus, Hypertension, Hyperlipidemia, Thyroid Disorders, Liver Diseases, as well as Travel Medicine and Tropical Diseases. His scientific and research interests include Community and Public Health, Health Policy, Epidemiology, Tropical, Migrant, and Humanitarian Medicine, as well as International and Global Health. He has authored ten foreign-language publications in scientific journals, six presentations at international conferences, and contributed one chapter to an edited volume. He has participated in numerous European and international conferences and advanced training programs. Regarding his professional experience, he has many years of teaching experience in adult education, serves as an external lecturer at the Medical University of Berlin, and is a scientific collaborator of the Master's Program "Global Health – Disaster Medicine" at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. Recently, he was appointed lead instructor of the "Migration and Health" module in the Master's Program "Public Health and Health Policy" at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
