Η Δρ. Σοφιάννα (Σοφία Αντιόπη) Γεννηματά είναι Πνευμονολόγος - Φυματιολόγος - Εντατικολόγος, απόφοιτη της Ιατρικής Σχολής του Εθνικού και Καποδιστριακού Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών με βαθμό "Λίαν Καλώς". Ολοκλήρωσε τη διδακτορική της διατριβή στο Εργαστήριο Λειτουργικού Ελέγχου της Α’ Πανεπιστημιακής Πνευμονολογικής Κλινικής του Νοσοκομείου Νοσημάτων Θώρακος Αθηνών "Σωτηρία" με βαθμό "Άριστα".

Ειδικεύθηκε στην Πνευμονολογία στην Α’ Πανεπιστημιακή Πνευμονολογική Κλινική του Νοσοκομείου "Σωτηρία", ενώ στο πλαίσιο της εκπαίδευσής της εργάστηκε για ένα έτος στην Παθολογική Κλινική του Γενικού Νοσοκομείου Αθηνών "Ευαγγελισμός" και εκπαιδεύτηκε στη Μονάδα Εντατικής Θεραπείας της ίδιας κλινικής. She specialized and obtained her specialty title in Pulmonology - Phthisiology at the Pulmonology Clinic of the General Hospital of Athens "Evangelismos." She further specialized in a salaried position in Interventional Pulmonology, Lung Cancer, and Pleural Diseases at the University Hospital of Southampton in the United Kingdom. Concurrently, she participated in the first accredited program for endobronchial and endoscopic ultrasound (EBUS and EUS), organized by the ERS. She has served as Consultant and Associate at Euroclinic Athens and in the Intensive Care Unit of the Gynecology & Obstetrics Clinic REA. In her private practice, since 2017, she provides high-level services in all fields of Pulmonology - Phthisiology with particular emphasis on functional respiratory testing, as well as lung cancer and pleural diseases. The clinic carries out all functional respiratory tests with a high-quality hospital-grade device (spirometry, challenge testing, diffusion capacity, and body plethysmography), as well as transthoracic lung ultrasound, overnight oximetry, and non-invasive blood gas analysis. The physician has a particular interest in sleep-related breathing disorders and respiratory infections, a field in which she also completed her doctoral dissertation titled "Infections in the Intensive Care Unit, with an emphasis on Ventilator-Associated Pneumonia (VAP) and Central Venous Catheter-Related Bacteremia (CVCRBI)." Finally, she has published scientific articles and participates as a speaker at medical conferences.
