Pediatric Pulmonologist

Dr. Doxa Kotzia is a Paediatrician - Paediatric Pulmonologist (fully qualified in England), Director of the Paediatric Pulmonology Department and Sleep Laboratory of Iaso Children’s Hospital, as well as a collaborator of the Onassis Cardiac Surgery Centre and the 1st Paediatric University Clinic of the Aghia Sophia Children’σ Hospital. Dr Kotzia graduated from the Athens Medical School and completed her residency in Pediatrics at the 3rd University Pediatric Clinic of Attikon Hospital. She trained in Paediatric Pulmonology in England, working in paid fellowship positions at the Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospital (the world reference centre for paediatric pulmonology) and Great Ormond Street Hospital (the largest quaternary reference hospital in the UK and Europe) in London. Dr Kotzia was a full-time Director of Paediatric Respiratory Medicine, specialising in long-term non-invasive ventilation and sleep medicine at Cambridge University Hospital in England. Dr Kotzia was an Honorary Director of Paediatric Paediatric Respiratory Medicine at Great Ormond Street Hospital in London. Dr Kotzia has worked in all areas related to the care of pediatric pulmonary patients with additional specialization in cystic fibrosis, long-term non-invasive ventilation, sleep medicine, lung transplantation, congenital airway abnormalities, neuromuscular/ neurological patients, cardiac patients and case management in the NICU, ICU and cardiac surgery unit. Dr Kotzia holds a PhD from the Athens Medical School and two postgraduate degrees (MSc from the Athens Medical School and MPH from the National School of Public Health, specialising in infectious diseases). Dr Kotzia served as an Academic Fellow in Paediatric Pulmonology at the 1st University Paediatric Clinic at the Aghia Sophia Children’s Hospital. Dr Kotzia is a post - PhD candidate at the Aegean University of Greece. Dr. Kotzia has a rich authorial and research work, with significant distinctions in her career and a strong presence in international and national conferences. Dr Kotzia is a reviewer in international scientific journals and has a special interest in leadership, management and quality improvement projects. Dr Kotzia is systematically involved in the training of younger colleagues. It is worth mentioning that she holds the honorary title of Fellow in the Royal College of Paediatricians and Child Health (RCPCH), UK. She is a member of the board of the Hellenic Paediatric Pulmonology Society and a member of the Hellenic College of Paediatricians, as well as a member of international medical societies, including the European Respiratory Society (ERS) and the British Paediatric Respiratory Society (BPRS).

Kartsiouni Elpiniki is a Pediatrician with postgraduate training in Pediatric Pulmonology and Pediatric Allergology, PhD holder from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She graduated from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and holds postgraduate degrees in "Pediatric Pulmonology" and "Clinical Pediatrics and Nursing Research" from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. The doctor initially specialized in hospitals in Germany and subsequently returned to Greece where she trained in major hospitals in Athens such as the University General Hospital "Attikon," the General Children's Hospital "Agia Sofia," and the General Hospital of Piraeus "Tzaneio." From 2017, she worked as an external collaborator at the "Mitera" Hospital; from 2018 as an Assistant Pediatrician in the Pediatric High Dependency Unit at the University General Hospital "Attikon"; and from 2021 as a Registrar B' in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit of the same hospital. Since 2018, she has been a Scientific Collaborator at the Pediatric Pulmonology and Pediatric Allergology Clinic of the 3rd University Pediatric Clinic of the University General Hospital "Attikon," and from 2023 to 2025 served as Registrar B' at the 3rd University Pediatric Clinic of the same hospital. Finally, the doctor has participated in numerous conferences and seminars in Greece and abroad and is an active member of the Hellenic and European Pediatric Pulmonology Society as well as the Hellenic and European Pediatric Allergology Society.

Dr. Zagkla Styliani Elina, MD, PhDc, is a Pediatric Pulmonologist - Pediatrician who maintains a private practice in Neo Psychiko. Dr. Zagkla is a physician specialized in Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine, with further specialization in Pediatric Pulmonology and Allergology. She graduated from the Medical School of the University of Patras. She has extensive clinical experience in Germany, in an academic setting, at Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin, with particular focus on respiratory and allergic diseases in children and adolescents.

Koutsokera Aleksandra is a Pulmonologist - Phthisiologist and maintains a private practice in Vrilissia, while simultaneously serving as a Consultant A' at the 2nd Pulmonology Clinic of the "Errikos Dunant" Hospital Center. She holds a master's degree in Thoracic Oncology and has completed a postgraduate program with distinction in Pediatric Pulmonology at the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She completed her specialties in both Pulmonology and Pathology at numerous hospitals in Greece and currently possesses valuable expertise in the field of Thoracic Oncology. In her practice, each patient can receive information regarding the prevention and management of pulmonary diseases, while she offers a range of pulmonology services such as respiratory function testing - spirometry, measurement of lung diffusion capacity, oximetry, allergy testing, and bronchodilation. Η Κολτσίδα Γεωργία MD, FAAP είναι Παιδοπνευμονολόγος, με πλήρη ειδίκευση και εξειδίκευση στην Παιδιατρική και Παιδιατρική Πνευμονολογία αντίστοιχα στις ΗΠΑ, και διατηρεί ιδιωτικό ιατρείο στο Νέο Ψυχικό. Τον Μαίο 2025, εκλέκτηκε Επίκουρη Καθηγήτρια Παιδιατρικής Πνευμονολογίας στην Β'Πανεπιστημιακή Κλινική του Νοσοκομείου Παίδων 'Π&Α Κυριακού'. Είναι απόφοιτη της Ιατρικής Σχολής του Πανεπιστημίου Κρήτης με βαθμό "Λίαν Καλώς ". Ολοκλήρωσε την θητεία της ως Αγροτικός Ιατρός στη Ζάκυνθο και κατόπιν ασχολήθηκε με την κλινική έρευνα στο Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών. Μετά από την επιτυχή ολοκλήρωση των USMLE εξετάσεων, μετέβη στις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες της Αμερικής το 2011, όπου και πραγματοποίησε την ειδικότητα της Γενικής Παιδιατρικής στο Maimonides Medical Center, στην Νέα Υόρκη. Συμμετείχε επιτυχώς στις εξετάσεις ειδικότητας του Αμερικανικού Παιδιατρικού Συμβουλίου και έλαβε τον τίτλο της Διαπιστευμένης από τον Παιδιατρικό Συμβούλιο Ειδικευμένης της Γενικής Παιδιατρικής (Board Certified Pediatrician) το 2015. Στη συνέχεια, ολοκλήρωσε την υποειδικότητα της Παιδιατρικής Πνευμονολογίας στο Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (Top #2 Children’s Hospital in USA), στην Πενσυλβάνια και παράλληλα συμμετείχε με υποτροφία στο Master in Epidemiology and Biostatistics του University of Pennsylvania. Στα πλαίσια της εκπαίδευσης της, αντιμετώπισε πληθώρα συνήθων αλλά σπάνιων και περίπλοκων παιδοπνευμονολογικών περιστατικών. Επιπρόσθετα συμμετείχε στο Τμήμα για τα Νοσήματα των Αεραγωγών, πραγματοποιώντας σημαντικό αριθμό βρογχοσκοπήσεων ενώ στα ιδιαίτερα ενδιαφέροντά της, ήταν και είναι η φροντίδα παιδιών με νευρομυικα νοσήματα. Η εξειδίκευση της περιελάμβανε επίσης το αντικείμενο της Ιατρικής του Ύπνου και εργάστηκε δίπλα στην Dr. Carole Marcus. Ακολούθως συμμετείχε επιτυχώς στις εξετάσεις ειδικότητας του Αμερικανικού Παιδιατρικού Συμβουλίου και έλαβε τον τίτλο της Διαπιστευμένης από τον Παιδιατρικό Συμβούλιο Ειδικευμένης στην Παιδιατρική Πνευμονολογία (Board Certified Pediatric Pulmonologist ) το 2018. Τέλος, έχει συμμετάσχει και παρουσιάσει σε διεθνή συνέδρια, κυρίως στις ΗΠΑ, καθώς και στην Αγγλία και Ελλάδα και έχει συγγράψει επιστημονικά βιβλία.

Η Δρ. Aλεξάνδρα Κάββαλου είναι Παιδοπνευμονολόγος – Παιδίατρος με πλήρη ειδικότητα και εξειδίκευση στη Γερμανία. Είναι απόφοιτος της Ιατρικής Σχολής Αθηνών, όπου εισήλθε με πανελλαδικές εξετάσεις στη δεύτερη θέση, και κατά τη διάρκεια των σπουδών της υπήρξε ακαδημαϊκός υπότροφος του Εθνικού Ιδρύματος Κρατικών Υποτροφιών καθώς και του Ιδρύματος Παπαδάκη. Μετά την αποφοίτησή της με βαθμό 8.3/10 μετέβη στη Γερμανία, όπου και πραγματοποίησε την ειδικότητά της στην Παιδιατρική στην Παιδιατρική Κλινική του Πανεπιστημίου του Έσσεν. 

Στη συνέχεια απέκτησε την ειδικότητα της Παιδιατρικής ενώ το ίδιο έτος απέκτησε το Δίπλωμα Υπερήχων στα παιδιά από την Γερμανική Εταιρεία Υπερήχων. Μετεκπαιδεύτηκε στην Παιδοπνευμονολογία στο Τμήμα Παιδοπνευμονολογίας, Κυστικής Ίνωσης και Ιατρικής Ύπνου στην Πανεπιστημιακή Παιδιατρική κλινική του Έσσεν η οποία αποτελεί παγκόσμιο κέντρο αναφοράς στην Παιδοπνευμονολογία. Απέκτησε την εξειδίκευση της Παιδοπνευμονολογίας μετά από εξετάσεις στον Ιατρικό Σύλλογο Βόρειας Ρηνανίας- Βεστφαλίας και εργάστηκε στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Έσσεν ως εξειδικευμένη Παιδοπνευμονολόγος έως και το 2024. Καθ´ όλη την σταδιοδρομία της στο Πανεπιστημιακό Νοσοκομείο του Έσσεν έχει συμμετάσχει ενεργά στην εκπαίδευση φοιτητών Ιατρικής Σχολής και ειδικευόμενων στην Παιδιατρική πάνω στο αντικείμενο της Παιδοπνευμονολογίας.

Το 2023 απέκτησε το διδακτορικό της δίπλωμα από το Πανεπιστήμιο του Έσσεν πάνω στην Κυστική Ίνωση.

Έχει εργαστεί σε όλα τα αντικείμενα φροντίδας παιδοπνευμονολογικών ασθενών με επιπλέον εξειδίκευση στην κυστική ίνωση, το αλλεργικό άσθμα, την βρογχοπνευμονική δυσπλασία, τις διαταραχές της προωρότητας, στο μακροχρόνιο επεμβατικό και μη επεμβατικό αερισμό, στην ιατρική ύπνου, στις συγγενείς ανωμαλίες των αεροφόρων οδών και σε νευρομυϊκούς/ νευρολογικούς ασθενείς.

Έχει πραγματοποιήσει μεγάλο αριθμό βρογχοσκοπήσεων και έχει πλούσιο συγγραφικό και ερευνητικό έργο με δημοσιεύσεις στα μεγαλύτερα διεθνή περιοδικά Παιδοπνευμονολογίας και Λοιμωξιολογίας (Pediatric Pulmonology, Infectious Diaseases και άλλα). Ακόμη έχει σημαντικές διακρίσεις και πολλές συμμετοχές σε διεθνή συνέδρια σε Ευρώπη και Αμερική. Παράλληλα έχει συμμετάσχει ως sub-investigator σε πληθώρα κλινικών μελετών πάνω στο αντικείμενο της παιδοπνευμονολογίας και της κυστικής ίνωσης.

Τέλος, είναι μέλος διεθνών ιατρικών εταιρειών, μεταξύ των οποίων της Ευρωπαϊκής Πνευμονολογικής Εταιρείας (ΕRS), της Γερμανικής Παιδοπνευμονολογικής Εταιρείας (GPP) καθώς και της Ελληνικής Παιδοπνευμονολογικής Εταιρείας.

Pesiridou Eutyxia is a Pulmonologist - Tuberculosis Specialist and maintains a private practice in Nea Smyrni. She holds a degree from the Medical School of the University of Padua, Italy, with a specialization in Pulmonology - Tuberculosis. She has gained extensive professional experience as a resident in the 6th Pulmonology Clinic at the General Hospital for Thoracic Diseases of Athens "Sotiria", as well as in the Outpatient Clinics of the Internal Medicine, Surgical, and Cardiology Departments, and the respective Emergency Clinics at the General Prefectural Hospital of Kalamata. Markatos Miltiadis is a Pulmonologist - Tuberculosis Specialist with a private practice in Chania. He holds a medical degree from the School of Health Sciences at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and has completed the Hyperbaric Medicine program at the Naval Hospital of Athens. He served for six years as vice president of the Association of Private Practitioners of Northern Greece and as a member of the Board of Directors of the Society for the Study of Pulmonary Diseases and Occupational Thoracic Diseases.
