Romanou Katia

Romanou Katia is a Pediatric Dentist and has maintained a private practice in Kallithea since 1989. In 1992, she was awarded a PhD from the University of Athens in the field of Preventive and Community Dentistry. She holds a Dentistry degree from the Dental School of the University of Athens and pursued three years of postgraduate studies (Master of Arts) in Toronto, Canada. For more than 30 years, she has specialized in dentistry for children and adults with special needs. She has an extensive scientific background, participating in numerous conferences in Greece and abroad where she has presented research, and has contributed articles to the Greek professional press on topics related to prevention and holistic dentistry. She is a founding member of the non-profit organization O.D.E.T.E.A.S. (Dental Society for the Study and Support of Persons with Special Needs) and served on its Board of Directors from its inception in 1992 until 1998. She is a member of the European Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the Hellenic Society of Pediatric Dentistry, and other Greek and international scientific societies. Additionally, she has organized and participated in volunteer programs promoting oral health in dozens of schools and other community groups, including the coordination of a program providing free dental treatment with the mobile dental unit of O.D.E.T.E.A.S. in institutions and schools for individuals with special needs during the years 1992-1996, where she voluntarily provided therapeutic dental services.
