Xatzakis Nikolaos

Xatzakis Nikolaos is an Otolaryngologist (ENT) who operates a private clinic in Heraklion, Crete, in collaboration with a Neurologist for the optimal management of patients with vertigo and balance disorders. He graduated from the Medical School of the University of Crete and obtained his specialty certification in the Otolaryngology clinic of the University General Hospital of Heraklion (PAGNI). Subsequently, he worked at the same clinic as a specialist physician, initially as a registrar B and later as a registrar A. After completing his specialty training, he pursued further education in the field of Audiology - Neurotology at the corresponding laboratory of PAGNI, a specialization that remains his primary area of expertise both in scientific research and daily clinical practice. He has also served as a scientific collaborator of the Otolaryngology clinic at PAGNI in the cochlear implant adjustment and monitoring laboratory and was a member of the hospital's Scientific Council. He specializes in the treatment of patients with hearing and vertigo problems and performs a wide range of examinations related to the investigation of auditory pathway and posterior labyrinth pathology, in both children and neonates as well as adults, including Audiometry, Videonystagmography, Auditory Brainstem Response (ABR), Auditory Steady-State Response (ASSR), Vestibular Evoked Myogenic Potentials (VEMP), utilizing the most advanced mechanical devices. Additionally, he is an author in international scientific ENT journals as well as journals related to molecular biology and pharmacology. Moreover, he is a speaker at ENT conferences and medical events, participating in undergraduate programs at the University of Crete (Medical School) and postgraduate programs (Postgraduate program "AUDIOLOGY – NEUROTOLOGY" at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens).
