Orthopaedic - Orthopaedic Surgeons for Video Consultation in Greece

Kyrou Georgios is an Orthopedic Surgeon Consultant at the 3rd Orthopedic Clinic of the private hospital Iaso in Marousi, while maintaining a private practice in Kallithea. He has previously served as a specialist and resident physician in some of the most prominent public hospitals in the country, including the General Hospital of Attica “Sismanoglio - Amalia Fleming,” the University General Hospital "Attikon," the General Oncology Hospital of Kifisia (G.O.N.K.), and the General Children's Hospital of Athens "Panagiotis and Aglaia Kyriakou," covering a wide range of pathology and surgical cases. A graduate of the Medical School of the University of Patras, he has actively participated in national and international conferences and possesses experience in a variety of interventional techniques and musculoskeletal system disorders. He has also received additional training through seminars in areas such as upper limb surgery, reconstructive surgery, sports injuries, and traumatology. His clinical and scientific focus is on the optimal, evidence-based, and individualized management of orthopedic conditions, emphasizing functional rehabilitation and the minimization of postoperative complications.

Dr. Tsapakidis Giannis was born in Larisa in 1975 and graduated from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2000. He completed his Orthopedic specialty residency at Tzaneio General Hospital of Piraeus, with part of his training conducted at KAT Hospital and Charing Cross Hospital in London. He received a scholarship from AO and worked as a Fellow at the Sports Injuries and Trauma Center of Queens Medical Centre University Hospital in Nottingham. He is a PhD candidate at the University of Athens and a member of AO ALUMNI. Since 2006, he has served as the team physician for the women's basketball team “ESPERIDES” Kallithea (Women’s A1 Basketball Champion for 2006-07 and 2008-09 and Greek Cup Winner for 2005-06, 2006-07, 2007-08, and 2008-09). From 2015 to 2018, he was part of the medical team covering orthopedic concerns for the athletes of KAE AEK. Since 2013, he has provided medical coverage for the basketball team PROTEAS VOULAS and from 2015 to 2025 served as the medical provider for the athletes of the basketball team KAE AMAROUSIOU. From 2021 to 2023, he was the team physician for the WOMEN'S NATIONAL BASKETBALL TEAM, and from 2022 to 2024 for the team of PANIONIOS B.C. Previously, he was part of the medical team covering orthopedic needs of the athletes of KAE PANELLINIOS from 2008 to 2011 and the Cultural and Sports Center “DAIS.” Subsequently, from 2018 to 2022, he provided medical coverage to the athletes of MELLISION and since 2018 to the athletes of ESPEROS B.C. Finally, starting this year, he has been the medical provider for the amateur club PANATHINAIKOS A.O. He has attended specialized seminars/workshops in Traumatology, Microsurgery, and Arthroscopic Surgery both in Greece and abroad. He has participated with publications/presentations in Greek and International scientific conferences and journals.

Dr. Sarantis Mixalis, MD, MSc, PhDc, is an Orthopedic Surgeon with a private practice in Psychiko. Concurrently, he serves as an Orthopedic Consultant specializing in Sports Injuries at Metropolitan Hospital. He has extensive experience, having completed his specialization at the General Children's Hospital "Agia Sofia" and the 4th Orthopedic Clinic of G.N.A. KAT, while also specializing at the same hospital in the Hand-Upper Limb-Microsurgery Clinic, the Sports Injuries Department, and the Pediatric Orthopedic Clinic. In 2018, he successfully completed advanced training in pediatric orthopedic trauma and pediatric skeletal deformities at the Orthopedic Hospital Speising (Vienna, Austria). Since 2019, he holds a Master's degree in "Metabolic Bone Diseases - Osteoporosis" from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. In 2020, he was appointed as a doctoral candidate by the Medical School of Athens, and since then he has been pursuing his doctoral thesis at the 2nd Orthopedic University Clinic of the University of Athens (Konstantopouleio Hospital – Agia Olga). He is an active member of the European Paediatric Orthopaedic Society (EPOS), the European Society for Sports Traumatology Knee Surgery and Arthroscopy (ESSKA), the Hellenic Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (EEHOT), and the Athens Medical Association. Finally, he has a rich academic portfolio, authoring numerous publications in peer-reviewed international journals (PUBMED) and actively participating in presentations at Greek and international conferences.

Dr. Nikolaos Tzinieris, MD, MSc, FMH, is an Orthopedic Surgeon who maintains private practices at Mavili Square and in Peristeri. He is the Director of the 2nd ORTHOPEDIC CLINIC - Upper Limb, Hand, and Microsurgery Clinic at the "Errikos Dynan" Hospital Center. He graduated from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. During his specialty training, he was also trained at the University Clinic of Hôpital Orthopédique in Lausanne and subsequently was appointed as Assistant Consultant B’ at the Upper Limb-Hand and Microsurgery Clinic of KAT Hospital. He completed his subspecialty training in Upper Limb and Spine Surgery at the University Hospital of Lausanne and served as Consultant at the University Hand and Microsurgery Surgical Clinic Longeraie in Lausanne and at the CH8 Clinic in Geneva, while simultaneously working at major private medical centers in French-speaking Switzerland. Upon returning to Greece, he collaborated with his mentor, N. Gerostathopoulos, and together they established the 2nd Orthopedic Clinic of Errikos Dynan Hospital, assembling an exceptionally esteemed team of experienced and accomplished associates. To this day, he continues to collaborate with surgical centers in Switzerland. Throughout his career, he has delivered numerous lectures and presentations at Greek and international conferences and serves as an instructor in postgraduate training seminars. He also holds a Master's degree, has an extensive number of publications, and is a member of the Swiss Society of Orthopedic Surgeons, the Swiss Medical Association, the American Association for Hand Surgery (AAHS), and the American Spine Surgery Society.

Vottis Xristos MD, PhD is an Orthopedic Surgeon with private practices in Ilisia and Neo Psychiko. He holds a doctorate and a degree from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and trained for several years at the 1st Orthopedic Clinic of the same university, where he continues to serve as an active collaborator. Additionally, he has specialized in hip and knee arthroplasty surgeries at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, USA, and has been trained in hand surgery at the specialized Hand, Upper Limb, and Microsurgery Clinic at the General Hospital of Attica "KAT". Furthermore, he is an Associate Physician of the Iatriko Group as well as the Evgenidio Therapy Center. Finally, he is a member of the Athens Medical Association, the Hellenic Society of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology, the Hellenic Society of Hand Surgery, and the Medical Association of the United Kingdom.
