Kostis Nikolopoulos is an Obstetrician – Gynecologist, Urogynecologist, and runs a private practice in Exarchia, Athens. He studied at the Medical School of the University of Patras, from which he graduated in 2007. After completing his military service, he began his specialization in Gynecology at “Elpis” and “G. Gennimatas” hospitals.In 2011, he moved to the United Kingdom, where he trained in Obstetrics and Gynecology, working at St George’s Hospital and Queen’s Hospital in London, and completed his specialization in 2016. In 2017, he began his subspecialty training (certified by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, UK) in Urogynecology and Pelvic Floor Surgery at Epsom and St Helier hospitals in London. At the same hospitals, he also trained in minimally invasive surgery.In 2019, he was appointed at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust, where he served as Head of the Urogynecology Department (Substantive Consultant) across Frimley Health, Wexham Park, and Heatherwood Hospitals. He also maintained a private practice in Windsor and operated in the private hospitals The Princess Margaret Hospital and Parkside Hospital. In November 2024, he resigned to return to Greece after a 13-year career in London.He performs approximately 150 gynecological and urogynecological surgeries annually, recorded in the British Society of Urogynaecology (BSUG audit database). He has served as a clinical and educational supervisor for medical trainees of Oxford (Thames Valley Health Education England – Oxford Deanery) in Obstetrics and Gynecology.He is a Member of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (MRCOG) and of the British Society of Urogynaecologists (BSUG). He holds a PhD from the University of Athens with a thesis and experimental studies in Urogynecology and a Master’s degree in Pregnancy Pathology.He has extensive teaching, research, and academic work, with publications in international journals and contributions to chapters in internationally recognized textbooks.
