Έχει ενεργή συμμετοχή σε ελληνικά και διεθνή ιατρικά συνέδρια, επιστημονικές δημοσιεύσεις σε έγκριτα περιοδικά και είναι πιστοποιημένη στη διαγνωστική κολποσκόπηση.

Το 2018, η σταθερή του δέσμευση στη ζωή τον ώθησε να γίνει μέλος της Ιατρικής Γυναικολογικής Ομάδας IVF της HOPEgenesis που προσπαθεί να ανατρέπει το κλίμα της υπογονιμότητας-υπογεννητικότητας στην Ελλάδα. Είναι Επιστημονικός Υπεύθυνος Μονάδας της Υποβοηθούμενης Αναπαραγωγής του Νοσοκομείου ΜΗΤΕΡΑ και μέλος του Επιστημονικού Συμβουλίου του ίδιου Νοσοκομείου. Ο Δρ. Ιωαννίδης είναι μέλος πολλών διεθνών επιστημονικών εταιρειών όπως η Ευρωπαϊκή Εταιρεία Ανθρώπινης Αναπαραγωγής και Εμβρυολογίας (ESHRE) και η Αμερικανική Εταιρεία Αναπαραγωγικής Ιατρικής (ASRM). Έχει διαρκές επιστημονικό έργο είτε ως διοργανωτής πολλαπλών συνεδρίων που αφορούν την Εξωσωματική Γονιμοποίηση ή ως προσκεκλημένος διεθνής ομιλητής.
