Dr. Stefanos Tingas is a Gastroenterologist – Hepatologist – Interventional Endoscopist. In 2010, he graduated from the Medical School of the distinguished “Tor Vergata” University in Rome. After completing his military service as a military doctor with the 32nd Marine Brigade, he worked as a rural doctor at the Health Center of Sofades in Karditsa, then as a Primary Care Physician at the Vittorakis Polyclinic in Platanias, Chania, and as a sports doctor for the sports medicine company “Actionmed.”He began his specialization in gastroenterology at the 2nd Oncology Clinic of the General Oncology Hospital of Kifisia “Agioi Anargyroi,” where he completed the general internal medicine portion of his training. He then continued his gastroenterology specialization at the General Hospital of Piraeus “Tzaneio,” where he earned the title of Specialist in Gastroenterology and Hepatology.During his specialty training and overall tenure at “Tzaneio” General Hospital, he acquired significant expertise in interventional endoscopy, including techniques such as removal of large polyps, EMR (Endoscopic Mucosal Resection), small bowel investigation with capsule endoscopy, placement of percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy (PEG), hemostasis of bleeding ulcers, esophageal variceal band ligation, and cauterization of angiodysplasias and other lesions using Argon Plasma Coagulation (APC).Dr. Tingas has also been trained in high-definition endoscopy (Narrow Band Imaging - NBI chromoendoscopy) for the prevention and early diagnosis of early-stage cancer and precancerous conditions of the digestive tract.He has gained extensive experience in managing patients with inflammatory bowel diseases (such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis), as well as liver diseases, actively participating in the hospital’s hepatology outpatient clinic.Dr. Stefanos Tingas has participated in numerous conferences and seminars and has authored publications in both international and Greek medical journals. Kostas Athanasios MD, PhD is a Gastroenterologist with a private practice located in Kato Toumpa, Thessaloniki. He holds a Doctorate from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and is a graduate of the same Medical School. He initially specialized at the General Hospital of Mytilene "Vostaneio" and completed his Gastroenterology specialty training at the University Gastroenterology Clinic of the General Hospital of Athens "Laiko." Additionally, he has served as a Scientific Collaborator in the Endoscopy Department of the 1st Propaedeutic Clinic of the University General Hospital of Thessaloniki AHEPA. Dr. Athanasios has participated in numerous conferences, symposia, and workshops throughout Greece, focusing primarily on Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Digestive Oncology. He also has numerous presentations at Greek and international conferences, as well as publications in foreign-language journals.

Η Βικτώρια Θώδου, MD,PhD, είναι Γαστρεντερολόγος – Ηπατολόγος με εξειδίκευση στην επεμβατική ενδοσκόπηση ανώτερου – κατώτερου πεπτικού και χοληφόρων αγγείων.Γεννημένη και μεγαλωμένη σε αθηναϊκό προάστιο, η γιατρός εισήχθη με Πανελλαδικές Εξετάσεις στην Ιατρική Σχολή του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών το 2005, από όπου αποφοίτησε μετά από εξαετή φοίτηση.Αμέσως μετά την αποφοίτησή της, το 2011, μετέβη στη Γερμανία και συγκεκριμένα στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Έσσεν (Universitätsklinikum Essen), ονομαστό πανεπιστημιακό νοσοκομείο και το μεγαλύτερο μεταμοσχευτικό κέντρο ήπατος της Γερμανίας, για την ειδίκευσή της αρχικά στη Γενική Παθολογία, τον τίτλο της οποίας απέκτησε το 2017.Το 2020, ενώ ήδη διατελούσε χρέη επιμελήτριας στην ίδια κλινική, απέκτησε και τον τίτλο της Γαστρεντερολογίας και Ηπατολογίας.Κατά την εκπαίδευσή της μαθήτευσε δίπλα στον ονομαστό καθηγητή Univ.-Prof. Dr. Alexander Dechêne, σε διαγνωστικές αλλά και επεμβατικές πράξεις. Lourida Theoni is a Gastroenterologist who maintains a private practice in Patras. She graduated from the Medical School of the University of Patras and specialized at the Gastroenterology Clinic of the University Hospital of Patras. She has expertise in the diagnosis and management of numerous gastroenterological and hepatological diseases, as well as in performing a substantial number of diagnostic and interventional endoscopies of the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract (gastroscopies, colonoscopies—polypectomies, management of gastrointestinal bleeding—esophageal variceal ligation—gastrostomy placement—stent placement in the esophagus and colon), endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP), and small bowel capsule endoscopy. Dr Med Katsoulis Stauros Kai Synergates is a Specialist Gastroenterologist - Hepatologist, Specialist Pathologist, and Intensivist, with a practice based in Chania. He is a graduate and Doctor of Medicine from the University of Göttingen Medical School and an Assistant Professor at Ruhr University Bochum in Germany. He completed his full specialization in Germany, where he worked for 33 years at the highest level of German medicine. From 2002 to 2019, he served as the Director of Gastroenterology at the KKLE Hospital in Germany, an Academic Teaching Hospital of Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf. He has published numerous articles in international scientific journals and has presented research findings from his work. The modern gastroenterology clinic is fully equipped with high-resolution endoscopes from Olympus. It also features a new ultrasound device from Canon (Xario 200G) for ultrasounds of the upper and lower abdomen, as well as a device for performing respiratory tests for food intolerances (such as lactose, fructose, etc.). Varytimiadis Lazaros MD, MSc, FEBGH, PhD is a Gastroenterologist - Interventional Endoscopist, Deputy Director of the Gastroenterology Clinic and Endoscopy Department at MITERA Hospital, and maintains private practices in Pefki and Athens. He received a scholarship from the Hellenic Society of Gastroenterology and completed advanced training in Interventional Gastrointestinal Endoscopy at Queen Alexandra Hospital, where he was later appointed and worked as a Consultant. He specialized in Gastroenterology at the General Hospital of Athens "Evangelismos - Athens Ophthalmological Clinic - Polyclinic," as well as in Internal Medicine at the General Prefectural Hospital of Edessa. Additionally, he holds a PhD from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, with a dissertation focused on the removal of precancerous lesions (polyps) from the gastrointestinal tract. He completed a postgraduate MSc program in Crisis Management at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and graduated with honors from the Victor Babes University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Romania. It is noteworthy that his main clinical interests include complex polypectomies of large polyps (EMR, pEMR, ESD), monitoring patients with Barrett’s esophagus, and Inflammatory Bowel Diseases. Furthermore, he has participated in numerous national and international conferences, workshops, and advanced training seminars, has received scholarships and awards for best scientific presentations, and has delivered oral presentations and posters at various scientific meetings.

Panagiotis Ksiarxos is a Gastroenterologist - Hepatologist with a private practice in Thessaloniki. He is a graduate of the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and has specialized in the Gastroenterology Oncology Department of the Thessaloniki Anti-Cancer Hospital "Theageneio" and in the Gastroenterology Department of the General Hospital of Thessaloniki "Georgios Papanikolaou". He is a PhD candidate at the University Gastroenterology Clinic of the Medical School of the University of Athens and a graduate of the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. Dr. Zogas Nikolaos is a Gastroenterologist - Hepatologist with a clinic in Kallithea and an external collaborator of some of the largest private clinics in Athens where he performs endoscopy. He graduated from the University of Udine in Italy. He served as Director at the Department of Pathology and Gastroenterology of the University Hospital in Umeå, Västerbotten, Sweden, where he obtained two specialty titles (recognized by the Greek Authorities): Gastroenterology - Hepatology and Internal Medicine. Additionally, he is a PhD candidate at the University of Umeå, where he also served as a trainer for medical residents and nurses at the Medicinkliniken and holds, among others, certification from the two-year program Grundläggande Forskningsmetodik för läkare. He has many years of experience in monitoring hepatology patients and is particularly specialized in clinical (ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease, diarrheal syndromes, constipation, celiac disease, Helicobacter pylori, collagenous gastritis, etc.) and interventional gastroenterology with numerous difficult endoscopies, polypectomies, and other interventional procedures. He has specific expertise in interventional procedures such as large polyp polypectomies with EMR, balloon enteroscopy (double or single balloon enteroscopy), esophageal variceal ligation, dilation of gastrointestinal strictures, gastrostomy placement (PEG), and others. He served as a consultant in the Gastroenterology Department of the hospital "Elpis" until the end of 2020.

Gastroenterologist – Hepatologist M.D.

I am Alexandros Spyrantis, Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist M.D., with a private practice in Ilioupoli, Athens. I am also a Gastroenterologist Associate at the 1st Department of Gastroenterology and Interventional Endoscopy at IASO General Clinic.

I graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Latvia in Riga and subsequently completed my specialist training in Gastroenterology and Hepatology in Greece. My specialist training included the Hepato-Gastroenterology Department of G.O.N.K. “Agioi Anargyroi”, as well as clinical training at the Gastroenterology Department of General Hospital of Nikaia “Agios Panteleimon”. Prior to specialising in Gastroenterology, I trained in Internal Medicine, gaining broad clinical experience in the overall assessment and management of patients.

Gastrointestinal endoscopy is a particular area of professional interest. I have completed the Hellenic Gastroenterology Society’s Endoscopy School and have participated in hands-on training in invasive endoscopic techniques. I also regularly participate in scientific conferences and educational programmes in Greece and abroad, with a focus on Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Endoscopy.

In my clinical practice, I assess and manage a wide range of gastrointestinal and liver conditions, including gastroesophageal reflux disease, indigestion, gastritis, Helicobacter pylori infection, peptic ulcer disease, abdominal pain, bloating, irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, diarrhoea and changes in bowel habits. I also evaluate gastrointestinal bleeding, colorectal polyps, diverticular disease and inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, as well as liver and biliary disorders.

I place particular emphasis on careful history-taking and a structured diagnostic approach. I believe that patients should clearly understand what may be causing their symptoms, why a particular investigation is recommended and what the next steps should be.

For this reason, I aim to give each patient sufficient time to discuss their symptoms, concerns and expectations. I explain the diagnosis and available treatment options in clear and understandable terms, while tailoring the medical approach to each individual patient.

My approach combines current medical knowledge with personalised care. I believe that effective medical care should take into account not only the clinical findings and scientific evidence, but also the individual needs and circumstances of each patient.

Alongside my clinical work, I maintain an active interest in medical research and continuing professional education. I have participated in scientific studies, presentations and posters at Greek and international conferences, with topics including inflammatory bowel disease, hepatology, gastrointestinal endoscopy and a range of gastrointestinal conditions.

My aim is to provide patients with medical care that combines scientific expertise, careful diagnostic assessment, up-to-date knowledge and clear, compassionate communication.

For me, good medical care does not end with establishing a diagnosis. It also means providing clear information, an appropriate management plan and building a relationship of trust between doctor and patient.
