Georgios Bpagias is a General Surgeon, PhD holder from the Medical School of Athens. He completed his medical studies at the Medical School of Athens with "Excellent" marks and undertook his specialty training in Greece and Germany (university clinics of general surgery and transplantation in Hannover and Essen). Concurrently, he completed his doctoral thesis on short bowel syndrome also with "Excellent" marks, while specializing in minimally invasive colorectal surgery at the University of Strasbourg, with an emphasis on modern laparoscopic techniques. Subsequently, he completed specialization in pelvic floor disorder management at the University of Venice.

He has worked in Germany for a decade, where he served as Consultant and Head of the Abdominal Wall Hernia Department at the Surgical Clinic and Transplant Center of the University of Tübingen, where he also earned his PhD on Colorectal Cancer.
