Το 2020 απέκτησε την ειδικότητα της Παθολογικής Ογκολογίας στο The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre, στο Liverpool του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου. Παράλληλα, ολοκλήρωσε τη διατριβή του στη Γενετική Ογκολογία (MSc in Genomic Oncology) στο University of Manchester.

Σε ηλικία μόλις 34 ετών, ανέλαβε θέση Επιμελητή στο The Christie NHS Foundation Trust στο Manchester, ένα από τα κορυφαία ογκολογικά κέντρα του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου και διεθνές κέντρο αναφοράς. Εκπαιδευτικό και θεσμικό έργο

Έλαβε την ειδικότητα της Παθολογικής Ογκολογίας το 2020, επιτυγχάνοντας εξαιρετική βαθμολογία (96/100) στις εξετάσεις για την απόκτηση του τίτλου ειδικότητας, ενώ το 2024 επιλέχθηκε να συμμετέχει στην ακαδημία του IASLC (International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer) ανάμεσα σε διακεκριμένους συναδέλφους με ειδίκευση στην Ογκολογία Θώρακος παγκοσμίως. Έχει πολυετή κλινική εμπειρία στην Ογκολογία, υπηρετώντας ως ειδικευόμενος και αργότερα ως επιμελητής σε αναγνωρισμένα νοσοκομεία της Αθήνας, ενώ εργάζεται ως Επιμελητής Παθολόγος - Ογκολόγος στην Δ' Ογκολογική Κλινική και Πρότυπο Κέντρο Κλινικών Μελετών του Metropolitan Hospital. Παράλληλα, είναι ενεργό μέλος σε ελληνικές και διεθνείς επιστημονικές εταιρείες (ESMO, IASLC, HeSMO, HeCOG) και συντονιστής του Ογκολογικού Συμβουλίου για τον Καρκίνο του Πνεύμονα στο Metropolitan Hospital. Διαθέτει σημαντικό ερευνητικό έργο, με πλούσια συγγραφική δραστηριότητα σε διεθνή επιστημονικά περιοδικά, ενώ έχει συμμετέχει ως ομιλητής σε πολυάριθμα Ελληνικά και διεθνή συνέδρια Ογκολογίας. Συμμετέχει ενεργά σε διεθνή προγράμματα, όπως το HORIZON 2020 – I3LUNG, καθώς και σε πολυάριθμες διεθνείς φάσεως ΙΙ και ΙΙΙ κλινικές μελέτες για τον καρκίνο του πνεύμονα, μεταξύ των οποίων η INTerpath-009, που αξιολογεί την αποτελεσματικότητα του mRNA εμβολίου V940 σε συνδυασμό με ανοσοθεραπεία σε ασθενείς με εξαιρέσιμο μη - μικροκυτταρικό καρκίνο του πνεύμονα μετά από εισαγωγική χημειοανοσοθεραπεία, και η μελέτη ARTEMIA, που συγκρίνει την αποτελεσματικότητα του πεπτιδικού εμβολίου OSE2101 έναντι της κλασικής χημειοθεραπείας σε ασθενείς με προχωρημένο μη - μικροκυτταρικό καρκίνο του πνεύμονα και δευτερογενή αντίσταση στην ανοσοθεραπεία. Η επιστημονική του προσέγγιση συνδυάζει την εξατομικευμένη ιατρική με τη σύγχρονη κλινική έρευνα, προσφέροντας στους ασθενείς του πρόσβαση σε καινοτόμες θεραπείες και υψηλού επιπέδου ογκολογική φροντίδα.

Dr. Ioannis Sarris, MD, MSc, is a Gynecologist - Obstetrician with private practices in Agia Paraskevi, Attica, and Atalanti, Phthiotis. He holds a medical degree from the Universita degli Studi di Roma in Italy. Subsequently, he obtained a Master's Degree in Obstetric Pathology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He initially specialized in the Surgical Department of the General Hospital of Attica KAT, managing numerous emergency cases, and then in the Gynecological Department of the General Hospital of Athens "G. Gennimatas," participating in numerous gynecological surgeries, colposcopies, and hysteroscopies. He specialized in Obstetrics at the General Hospital of Athens "Elena Venizelou," where he took part in numerous natural, painless deliveries, being a strong advocate for them, as well as cesarean sections when medically indicated. He serves as a Scientific Collaborator at the maternity hospitals "Iaso" and "Rea," and his expertise in infertility, menopause, and monitoring of low and high-risk pregnancies is noteworthy. Since 2020, he has been the Chief of the Surgical and Delivery Rooms at the "IASO" Maternity Hospital. Always guided by continuous scientific advancements, he is actively involved in conferences and seminars that promote the enrichment, empowerment, and dissemination of medical knowledge within the scientific community. He manages a wide range of cases with scientific precision, extensive experience, and always focusing on the specific needs of each patient.
