Το ερευνητικό του ενδιαφέρον εστιάζεται στην προ-κλινική και μεταφραστική-κλινική ανάπτυξη κυτταρικών θεραπειών, μια εκ των οποίων (iG-Tregs) εφαρμόζεται πλέον σε φάση Ι/ΙΙ κλινική έρευνα (EudraCT-2021-006367-26). Σε διοικητικό επίπεδο έχει ασχοληθεί ιδιαίτερα με το ρυθμιστικό πλαίσιο και την διαπίστευση των Κυτταρικών Θεραπειών και των Δεξαμενών Δοτών. Σε Εθνικό επίπεδο είναι/υπήρξε μέλος ΔΣ της «Ελληνικής Αιματολογικής Εταιρείας», της «Ελληνικής Εταιρείας Γονιδιακής Θεραπείας και Αναγεννητικής Ιατρικής», του «Ελληνικού Οργανισμού Μεταμοσχεύσεων (ΕΟΜ)» και του «Περιφερειακού Συμβουλίου Έρευνας και Καινοτομίας Δυτικής Ελλάδας» κα από το 2024 Διευθυντής της Ελληνικής Δημόσιας Τράπεζας Ομφαλοπλακουντιακού Αίματος (ΟπΑ) στο Ίδρυμα Ιατροβιολογικών Ερευνών της Ακαδημίας Αθηνών (Ι.ΙΒ.Ε.Α.Α.).
