Messini Eleni MD, PhD

Dr. Eleni Messini, MD, PhD, is a Ophthalmic Surgeon who maintains a private practice in Ilisia. She studied at the Medical School of the University of Athens, from which she graduated with honors. She specialized in Ophthalmology at the Athens Eye Hospital. She holds a PhD from the Medical School of the University of Athens. She is a member of the Hellenic Ophthalmological Society, the European Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, the Hellenic College of Ophthalmology, the Vitreous and Retina Society, the Ocular Surface and Dry Eye Society, as well as the Ophthalmology History Group. Since 1992, she has maintained a co-located private practice with cardiologist Stavros Vogiatzis. She is an external collaborator of the Ophthalmology Clinic of Ypapanti, the Athens Ophthalmology Center, the Eye Care Clinic, Piraeus Refractive Center, a former collaborator of the Ophthalmic Surgery Unit of the "EVE DAY CLINIC" Day Hospital Unit, and an internal collaborator at EDOEAP. She completed a fellowship in the Vitreoretinal Department at Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, in 2002, and in the Refractive Surgery Department of the Vardinogiannis Ophthalmology Institute of Crete in 2003. She has participated in seminars, conferences, publications, clinical studies - in Greece and abroad - and in the authorship of medical textbooks.
