Koumoustiotis Vasilis

Koumoustiotis Vasilis is a Nephrologist, Director of the Nephrology Clinic at the 251 Air Force General Hospital and maintains a private practice in Kallithea. He graduated from the Medical School of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He specialized in Internal Medicine at the 1st Internal Medicine Clinic of the 251 Air Force General Hospital and in Nephrology at the Nephrology Clinic of the Athens General Hospital "Evangelismos." Additionally, he served as a Clinical Fellow in the Renal Department of Manchester Royal Infirmary. He has worked as an affiliated Nephrologist at the Autonomous Hemodialysis Unit of the Attica Model Kidney Center and at the Autonomous Hemodialysis Unit Nephroiatriki Green. Concurrently, he previously served as Consultant at the Nephrology Clinic of the 251 Air Force General Hospital and as Director of the Artificial Kidney Unit at the General Clinic "Vougiouklakeio." He is involved in clinical nephrology, including the monitoring of patients with chronic kidney disease stages III-IV (anemia of chronic disease, renal osteodystrophy, preparation for initiation of extracorporeal dialysis), diabetic nephropathy, hypertensive nephropathy and glomerulosclerosis, cardiorenal syndrome, hepatorenal syndrome, renovascular hypertension, glomerulonephritis, genetic kidney diseases, nephrolithiasis – investigation and conservative management, and disorders of acid-base balance and electrolytes. Finally, the doctor is a member of the Athens Medical Association.
