Dr. Panagiotopoulos, MD, is a psychiatrist, a graduate of the Medical School of the University of Athens, who completed his specialty training in Athens (Konstantopouleio General Hospital of Nea Ionia). Dr Panagiotopoulos completed a 10month training oriented in community psychiatry in the University Hospitals of Geneva after obtaining his specialty title in psychiatry
The Doctor has experience in treating the full spectrum of adult psychopathology and is able to offer both biological psychiatric and psychodynamic psychotherapy services.
He helps adults who are dealing with:
- disorders across the broader emotional spectrum, such as depression, bipolar disorder, etc.
- anxiety, panic attacks, adjustment difficulties, grief, and emotional crises
- disorders across the obsessive-compulsive spectrum
- psychosomatic issues based on a biopsychosocial model, as well as mental health issues arising in the context of somatic disease.
- post-traumatic mental manifestations (ASD, PTSD)
- psychotic spectrum disorders
- behavioural disorders arising in the context of neurodevelopmental disorders (mental retardation, autism, ADHD)
- behavioural disorders of neurodegenerative diseases (dementia).
In order to begin treating patients with somatic-physical comorbidities, an open collaboration with their general practitioner and other specialists involved in their care is required.
