Οικονόμου είναι Ιατρός Ωτορινολαρυγγολόγος – Χειρουργός και Ειδικός Αισθητικής Προσώπου, με πολυετή κλινική εμπειρία στη διάγνωση και αντιμετώπιση παθήσεων του ωτός, της ρινός, των παραρρινίων κόλπων, του λάρυγγα και της κεφαλής και τραχήλου. Αποφοίτησε από την Ιατρική Σχολή του Δημοκριτείου Πανεπιστημίου Θράκης και ολοκλήρωσε την ειδίκευσή του στη Γενική Χειρουργική και στη συνέχεια στην Ωτορινολαρυγγολογία στο Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Ασκληπιείο Βούλας.

In his final year in the UK, he served as the Director of the ENT department. He maintains close ties with the UK, where he travels annually for training in the latest surgical techniques in Otolaryngology while simultaneously maintaining his private practice in Piraeus.
