Dr Koukos Xristos is an Orthopedic Surgeon who maintains a private practice in Thessaloniki. He is a former Director of specialized sports injuries at St. Josef Hospital in Wuppertal, Germany. He completed his specialization and sub-specialization entirely in Germany. He undertook advanced training at world-renowned sports injury centers specializing in shoulder and elbow injuries, including: ATOS Klinik München (Prof. Martetschläger, Prof. Tauber), Klinikum Rechts der Isar (Prof. Imhoff), OCC Tübingen (Prof. Kasten), ARCUS Klinik Pforzheim (PD Dr. Burkhart), and AZ Monica Antwerp (Prof. Van Riet). In 2017, he served as Consultant at Sportklinik Duisburg, and in 2018, he was appointed Head of the arthroscopy department at the Evangelical Hospital of Mettmann (EVK Mettmann). In 2022, he assumed the position of Director at St. Josef Hospital in Wuppertal, overseeing 1,700 surgeries annually exclusively related to sports injuries of the knee, shoulder, and elbow. He is a certified trainer of the German Arthroscopic Society (AGA). Additionally, he is a member of the committees of the International Society of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology (SICOT) and the International Society of Arthroscopy, Knee Surgery, and Orthopaedic Sports Medicine (ISAKOS), as well as a member of the European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery & Arthroscopy (ESSKA - ESA) committee for shoulder and elbow. He holds international recognition in the field of shoulder and elbow, frequently presenting at international conferences and seminars, and he is one of only 3-4 surgeons worldwide performing arthroscopic reconstruction of the lateral ulnar collateral ligament. His expertise also includes multiligamentous knee injuries, beyond just the cruciate ligaments, as well as knee osteotomies aimed at avoiding arthroplasty in younger patients.

Papaxristos Athanasios is an Orthopedic Surgeon, Director of the 5th Orthopedic Clinic at Euroclinic Athens, who maintains a private practice in the Ampelokipi area. He is a graduate of the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and, after completing his specialty training at the Attikon General Hospital KAT, specialized in the surgical management of sports injuries and degenerative hip and knee disorders, completing a fellowship program at the University Hospital of Leeds in the United Kingdom, recognized by the Royal College of Surgeons (RCS). He has developed a particular scientific interest in the management of post-traumatic and juvenile arthritis, having performed numerous surgeries both during his four-year fellowship training in hospitals in the United Kingdom and after his return to Greece.

Tolis Konstantinos MD, MSc, PhDc is an Orthopedic Surgeon with a private practice in Kolonaki. He graduated from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and is a PhD candidate at the same institution. Additionally, he holds a postgraduate degree in "Metabolic Bone Diseases" with a thesis on the "Pathophysiology of Bone Pain" from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He initially specialized in General Surgery at the General Hospital of Pyrgos "Andreas Papandreou," in Pediatric Orthopedics at the First Pediatric Orthopedic Clinic of the General Children's Hospital of Athens "P. & A. Kyriakou," and finally in General Orthopedics at the First University Orthopedic Clinic of the University General Hospital "Attikon." From 2014 to 2020, he was an Academic Fellow at the Laboratory for Research of Musculoskeletal Disorders "Th. Garofalidis," focusing on "Microsurgery" at the General Hospital of Attica KAT. He is the Deputy Director of the 8th Orthopedic Clinic at Metropolitan General and the Scientific Director of the Upper Limb - Microsurgery Clinic. Concurrently, he collaborates with several clinics within Attica. He has participated in numerous conferences in Greece and abroad, presenting poster presentations, oral communications, and lectures. Finally, he is a member of the Athens Medical Association, the Hellenic Society of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology, the Hellenic Osteoporosis Foundation, and the Hellenic Society for Hand Surgery.

Ο Δρ. Νικόλαος Καλύβας είναι Ορθοπαιδικός Χειρουργός με 15ετή εμπειρία στο Σύστημα Υγείας της Γερμανίας (2010–2025). Απο το 2026 διατηρεί ιδιωτικό ιατρείο στους Αμπελόκηπους (έναντι της αμερικανικής πρεσβείας). Για περισσότερα από 15 έτη εργάστηκε σε κλινικές υψηλού επιπέδου της Γερμανίας, ενώ από το 2017 υπηρέτησε ως Επιμελητής και από το 2021 ως Αναπληρωτής Διευθυντής σε πιστοποιημένο κέντρο ενδοπροσθετικής (EPZmax), διενεργώντας συνολικά πάνω από 11.000 χειρουργικές επεμβάσεις.

Διαθέτει επιπλέον εξειδίκευση στην Αθλητιατρική, τη Χειροθεραπεία και την υπερηχογραφική διάγνωση του μυοσκελετικού συστήματος, καθώς και στον έλεγχο ισχίων νεογνών κατά Graf. Στη διαγνωστική του προσέγγιση αξιοποιεί συστηματικά τη δεξιότητά του στην υπερηχογραφία μυοσκελετικού, επιτρέποντας άμεση, δυναμική και στοχευμένη αξιολόγηση των παθήσεων.

Η εξειδίκευσή του στην Αθλητιατρική και τη Χειροθεραπεία διαμόρφωσε μια πιο ολιστική και λειτουργική προσέγγιση απέναντι στον ασθενή. Ο Δρ. Καλύβας δίνει προτεραιότητα στη συντηρητική θεραπεία, η οποία περιλαμβάνει εξατομικευμένα πρωτόκολλα αποκατάστασης καθώς και υπερηχογραφικά καθοδηγούμενες εγχύσεις κορτιζόνης, υαλουρονικού οξέος και PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma).

Εφόσον έχει εξαντληθεί κάθε πιθανότητα βελτίωσης της πάθησης του ασθενούς με συντηρητική θεραπεία, προτείνει τη χειρουργική αντιμετώπιση μόνο όταν αυτή είναι πραγματικά απαραίτητη.
