Dr. Napoleon Xirokostas is a board-certified General Surgeon with subspecialty training in Laparoscopic, Robotic, and Oncologic Surgery. He maintains a private medical office in Rafina, Greece, and also serves as a Consultant Surgeon at the 1st Surgical Department of IASO General Hospital in Athens.
He completed his residency in General Surgery at Evangelismos General Hospital of Athens, the largest tertiary care and trauma center in Greece, where he also held the position of Chief Resident. Over the course of his training, he participated in more than 1,000 surgical procedures, including a wide spectrum of emergency, oncologic, and minimally invasive surgeries.
Dr. Xirokostas holds a Medical Degree (MD) from the Democritus University of Thrace and a Master of Science (MSc) in Advanced Laparoscopic and Bariatric Surgery from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
He completed his mandatory rural medical service at the General Hospital of Kyparissia and previously served in the Greek Army as a General Medicine Doctor, providing medical assessments and basic life support instruction.
He has received extensive training in trauma surgery (DSTC), laparoscopic and robotic techniques, microsurgery, and emergency abdominal procedures. He is certified in ATLS, ALS, and has participated in numerous specialized surgical workshops and cadaveric dissection courses across Europe.
Dr. Xirokostas has an active academic presence, with several peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national and international surgical congresses.
