Kakoulidis Ioannis is an Endocrinologist - Diabetologist maintaining a private practice in Nea Ionia. Επίσης έχει βραβευτεί στο Πανευρωπαϊκό Συνέδριο Νέων Ενδοκρινολόγων για την καλύτερη εργασία στο επιστημονικό πεδίο του Θυρεοειδούς με θέμα το μοριακό προφίλ ασθενών με Μυελοειδές Καρκίνωμα Θυρεοειδούς. Ειδικεύεται στην αντιμετώπιση παθήσεων του θυρεοειδούς (καλοήθεις και κακοήθεις) μεταξύ των οποίων, Μυελοειδές καρκίνωμα θυρεοειδούς, Αναπλαστικό καρκίνωμα θυρεοειδούς, Μεταστατικό καρκίνωμα θυρεοειδούς καθώς και στις διαταραχές οστικού μεταβολισμού (οστεοπόρωση).
