Gkortsali Athanasia is an Otolaryngologist with a private practice in Kolonaki. She is a graduate of the Medical School of Democritus University of Thrace. She specialized in Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the ENT Clinic of the Naval Hospital of Athens, where she was trained in a large number of cases and surgical procedures. Dr. Ilias Perogamvros, MD, PhD, is an Endocrinologist and Diabetologist, a top graduate of the University of Athens, Doctor, and Scientific Collaborator at the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. After completing his specialization at one of the leading Endocrinology centers in the UK, Christie Hospital in Manchester, and in the historic and largest Endocrinology Clinic in Greece at the General Hospital of Athens "Evangelismos," he maintains a private practice in Athens (near the exit of the Panormou Metro station) and collaborates with Medifirst Marousi as the head of the Outpatient Endocrinology Clinic. He has numerous publications in the leading scientific journals in the field of Endocrinology and presentations in the USA, Canada, and the United Kingdom. Dr. Sakorafas Georgios MD, PhD is a Thyroid and Parathyroid Surgeon with a private practice in Ampelokipoi. Dr. Traulos Aleksios, MD, is a Specialist Endocrinologist - Diabetologist with a private practice in Athens. He graduated from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. He completed his specialty training in "Endocrinology - Diabetes - Metabolism" at the University Hospitals "Laiko" and "Alexandra". Ms. Kitsou Xristina is a Vascular Surgeon - Endocrine Surgeon and maintains her practice in Kolonaki. She is a graduate of the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and specializes in Venous Surgery and Endocrine Surgery. Venous surgery for lower limb venous insufficiency concerns varicose veins and can be treated conservatively (sclerotherapy injections, Foam, and non-invasive Laser) as well as surgically (Laser, RF). The common feature of all conservative methods is that the patient continues their normal activities while undergoing treatment, whereas surgical methods require the patient to refrain from work for 1 to 2 days and typically involve a 24-hour hospital stay. Endocrine surgery concerns the thyroid and parathyroid glands. Surgical intervention is performed only upon indications set by the Endocrinologist and with the consent of the Surgeon. The incision made is small and analgesics are not required during the usually one-day hospitalization. In this case, the patient will need to abstain from work for 1 to 2 days.
