Karatzas Pantelis is a Gastroenterologist who maintains a private practice in the Ampelokipoi area. He completed his doctoral dissertation at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and holds a Medical degree from the same university. Η Βικτώρια Θώδου, MD,PhD, είναι Γαστρεντερολόγος – Ηπατολόγος με εξειδίκευση στην επεμβατική ενδοσκόπηση ανώτερου – κατώτερου πεπτικού και χοληφόρων αγγείων.Γεννημένη και μεγαλωμένη σε αθηναϊκό προάστιο, η γιατρός εισήχθη με Πανελλαδικές Εξετάσεις στην Ιατρική Σχολή του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών το 2005, από όπου αποφοίτησε μετά από εξαετή φοίτηση.Αμέσως μετά την αποφοίτησή της, το 2011, μετέβη στη Γερμανία και συγκεκριμένα στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Έσσεν (Universitätsklinikum Essen), ονομαστό πανεπιστημιακό νοσοκομείο και το μεγαλύτερο μεταμοσχευτικό κέντρο ήπατος της Γερμανίας, για την ειδίκευσή της αρχικά στη Γενική Παθολογία, τον τίτλο της οποίας απέκτησε το 2017.Το 2020, ενώ ήδη διατελούσε χρέη επιμελήτριας στην ίδια κλινική, απέκτησε και τον τίτλο της Γαστρεντερολογίας και Ηπατολογίας.Κατά την εκπαίδευσή της μαθήτευσε δίπλα στον ονομαστό καθηγητή Univ.-Prof. Dr. Alexander Dechêne, σε διαγνωστικές αλλά και επεμβατικές πράξεις. Από το 2019 ξεκίνησε τις ενδοσκοπικές εφημερίες επείγουσας γαστρεντερολογίας παίδων και ενηλίκων, στο πλαίσιο των οποίων απέκτησε μεγάλη εμπειρία στην αντιμετώπιση επειγόντων περιστατικών σε ενήλικες (αιμορραγία ανώτερου και κατώτερου πεπτικού, στάση βλωμού, παραλυτικός ειλεός από κοπρόσταση, χολαγγειίτιδα), αλλά και σε βρέφη – παιδιά (αιμορραγία ανώτερου και κατώτερου πεπτικού, στάση βλωμού, κατάποση ξένου σώματος).Παράλληλα, συνεργάστηκε με τον διευθυντή της κλινικής, καθηγητή Univ.-Prof. Dr. med. Heiner Wedemeyer, παγκόσμιας φήμης και αναγνώρισης καθηγητή ηπατολογίας, ως βασική εκπρόσωπος – συνεργάτις του στα προσωπικά του εξωτερικά ιατρεία ηπατολογίας.Στα ανεξάρτητα εξωτερικά ιατρεία του πανεπιστημίου εργάστηκε πολυετώς, ασχολούμενη κυρίως με ηπατολογικά περιστατικά, καθώς και με φλεγμονώδεις νόσους του εντέρου και με μεταμοσχευμένους ήπατος.Στο διδακτικό της έργο περιλαμβάνεται η θεωρητική και πρακτική εκπαίδευση των φοιτητών της Ιατρικής Σχολής του Πανεπιστημίου του Έσσεν και των ειδικευομένων στη Γαστρεντερολογία.Με αυτά τα εφόδια, εξειδικεύτηκε για δύο ακόμη χρόνια στο καθολικό κρατικό νοσοκομείο του Έσσεν, Huyssenstift, κέντρο αναφοράς γενικής χειρουργικής και ογκολογίας, σε βαριές επεμβατικές ενδοσκοπικές πράξεις όπως ERCP και EUS.Στο ακαδημαϊκό της έργο, πέρα από τη διδακτορική της διατριβή στις ιογενείς ηπατίτιδες, συγκαταλέγονται αρκετές δημοσιεύσεις, κυρίως στον τομέα της ηπατολογίας (με βράβευση εργασίας σε πανγερμανικό συνέδριο), καθώς και η συμμετοχή σε πολυκεντρικές μελέτες.Αποτελεί τακτικό μέλος της Ευρωπαϊκής Εταιρείας Γαστρεντερολογικής Ενδοσκόπησης (ESGE), της Γερμανικής Εταιρείας Γαστρεντερολογίας και Μεταβολικών Νοσημάτων (DGVS), της Ελληνικής Γαστρεντερολογικής Εταιρείας (ΕΓΕ) και της Επαγγελματικής Ένωσης Γαστρεντερολόγων Ελλάδος (ΕΠΕΓΕ).Συμμετέχει όλα αυτά τα χρόνια σε διεθνή επιστημονικά συνέδρια που αφορούν τη Γαστρεντερολογία και την Ηπατολογία, και ιδιαίτερα το επεμβατικό τους μέρος.Από το καλοκαίρι του 2023, ύστερα από υπερδεκαετή παραμονή στη Γερμανία, επιστρέφει στη γενέτειρά της, δραστηριοποιούμενη στο Ιατρικό Κέντρο Αθηνών με τον τίτλο της Αναπληρώτριας Διευθύντριας της Β΄ Γαστρεντερολογικής Κλινικής, ενώ συνεργάζεται και με την Κλινική του Ψυχικού.Προς διατήρηση των ακαδημαϊκών της δραστηριοτήτων,συνεργάζεται επίσης με την πανεπιστημιακή κλινική του Λαϊκού Νοσοκομείου ως εξωτερική συνεργάτης.

Varytimiadis Lazaros MD, MSc, FEBGH, PhD is a Gastroenterologist - Interventional Endoscopist, Deputy Director of the Gastroenterology Clinic and Endoscopy Department at MITERA Hospital, and maintains private practices in Pefki and Athens. He received a scholarship from the Hellenic Society of Gastroenterology and completed advanced training in Interventional Gastrointestinal Endoscopy at Queen Alexandra Hospital, where he was later appointed and worked as a Consultant. He specialized in Gastroenterology at the General Hospital of Athens "Evangelismos - Athens Ophthalmological Clinic - Polyclinic," as well as in Internal Medicine at the General Prefectural Hospital of Edessa. In 2017, he was recognized as a Fellow of the European Board of Gastroenterology and Hepatology (FEBGH). Additionally, he holds a PhD from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, with a dissertation focused on the removal of precancerous lesions (polyps) from the gastrointestinal tract. He completed a postgraduate MSc program in Crisis Management at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and graduated with honors from the Victor Babes University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Romania. It is noteworthy that his main clinical interests include complex polypectomies of large polyps (EMR, pEMR, ESD), monitoring patients with Barrett’s esophagus, and Inflammatory Bowel Diseases. Furthermore, he has participated in numerous national and international conferences, workshops, and advanced training seminars, has received scholarships and awards for best scientific presentations, and has delivered oral presentations and posters at various scientific meetings.

Lazaridis Lazaros - Dimitrios is a Gastroenterologist and serves as Consultant in the Gastroenterology – Hepatology Clinic at Metropolitan General in Cholargos. He also maintains a private practice at the Pharos of Neo Psychiko. He studied Medicine at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and specialized in Gastroenterology - Hepatology at the University General Hospital “Attikon.” Beyond the national exams for obtaining the Gastroenterology specialty title, he participated in the activities of the 14th Hepatology School of the Hellenic Association for the Study of the Liver and was awarded following his participation in the examinations. He was awarded a Doctorate from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens in 2017 with a grade of “Excellent.” He completed his doctoral thesis at the 2nd University Pathology Clinic of the University General Hospital “Attikon” focusing on the role of the inflammasome in idiopathic inflammatory bowel diseases. He is the author of more than 15 scientific articles in reputable international scientific journals. He has participated as an invited speaker at Greek conferences and has been part of the authorship team in nearly 50 presentations at international and Greek conferences. He has actively participated in multicenter clinical studies. He has taught students at the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens within the framework of undergraduate courses. He fulfilled his mandatory rural service as a physician at the General Hospital of Trikala in the Regional Clinic of “Koniskos” and served as a Pathology specialty trainee at the General Hospital of Athens “Sismanogleio,” as part of his training for the Gastroenterology specialty. Finally, he fulfilled his military obligations as a unit doctor in the Hellenic Army, serving at the 95th National Guard Reconnaissance Squadron (95 EAΝΕΘ) in Gennadi, Rhodes.

Pontas Xristos is a Gastroenterologist and maintains his private practice in Athens. He has served as a Senior Clinical Fellow in Acute General Medicine at the Royal Free Hospital Hampstead NHS Trust and as a Clinical Fellow in the Gastroenterology and Endoscopy Department of the same hospital in London. It is noteworthy that he was awarded a UEG (United European Gastroenterology) Scholarship as well as a Scholarship from the Hellenic Gastroenterological Society. He holds a medical degree from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and specialized in Gastroenterology at the Brooklyn Hospital Center of Mount Sinai - Icahn School of Medicine in New York. He specialized in Interventional Endoscopy at the MD Anderson Cancer Center Hospital of the University of Texas and in Hepatology at the University of Miami - Jackson Memorial Medical Center. Additionally, he holds a specialty in Internal Medicine from the University of Illinois in Chicago and possesses certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine and Gastroenterology. Dr. Papafragkakis is the author of numerous publications in scientific journals and has extensive academic teaching experience. He is a scientific collaborator and performs endoscopies at the Euroclinic Athens Hospital in Ampelokipoi.

Matina - Lydia Xatzinikolaou MD, PhD is a Gastroenterologist who sees patients in Cholargos at Metropolitan General Hospital. She graduated from the Athens College and subsequently studied Medicine at Nottingham University in England. She holds a PhD from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens. She completed further training in Inflammatory Bowel Diseases at the Royal Free Hospital in London, after completing her specialty in Gastroenterology at the Athens Anti-Cancer - Oncology Hospital "Agios Savvas." She works as a Consultant in the Advanced Therapeutic Endoscopy Clinic at Metropolitan General Hospital and is a Scientific Associate of the Gastroenterology Unit at the Athens Chest Diseases Hospital "Sotiria," with her primary specialization in inflammatory bowel diseases. She actively participates in Greek and international conferences and has authored scientific publications. Finally, she is a member of the Athens Medical Association, the Hellenic Gastroenterological Society, the Hellenic Group for the Study of Inflammatory Bowel Diseases, and the European Crohn's and Colitis Organisation.
