She holds a medical degree from the Medical School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and completed her specialty training in Dermatology-Venereology at the Athens Dermatology and Venereology Hospital "Andreas Syngros." Μετά το πέρας της εκπαίδευσής του, ο Δρ. Μπουρούνης επέστρεψε στην Ελλάδα και απέκτησε και επίσημα τον τίτλο ειδικότητας Πλαστικής, Επανορθωτικής και Αισθητικής Χειρουργικής, έπειτα από την επιτυχή ολοκλήρωση των εξετάσεων.
