Zosimas Dimitrios MD, FRCS is a General Surgeon with a private practice in Corfu. O Αθανάσιος Ξάκης γεννήθηκε στον Πολύγυρο Χαλκιδικής στις 22 Ιανουαρίου του 1994. Φοίτησε με αθλητική και ακολούθως μαθητική υποτροφία στο λύκειο των Εκπαιδευτηρίων Μαντουλίδη από όπου και τελικώς αποφοίτησε με άριστα το 2011. Κατά τη διάρκεια της μαθητικής του πορείας έλαβε αποδοχές και υποτροφίες για φοίτηση σε διακεκριμένα πανεπιστήμια των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών της Αμερικής και του Ηνωμένου Βασιλείου. 

Σπούδασε Ιατρική στο Πανεπιστήμιο Ιωαννίνων. Κατά τη διάρκεια των σπουδών του υπήρξε μέλος του Εργαστηρίου Ανατομίας, υπεύθυνος για την εκπαίδευση και την ένταξη νέων φοιτητών ιατρικής καθώς επίσης συμμετείχε σε πληθώρα σεμιναρίων και παρουσιάσεων σε διεθνή συνέδρια. 

Μετά το πέρας των σπουδών του πραγματοποίησε Κλινική Άσκηση στη Χειρουργική στο Faculty of Medicine, Public Health and Nursing, Universitas Gadjah Mada στην Yogyakarta της Ινδονησίας καθώς επίσης και Κλινική Άσκηση στην Αγγειοχειρουργική στο University Medical Centre Utrecht στην Ουτρέχτη της Ολλανδίας. 

Εργάστηκε ως ειδικευόμενος Χειρουργικής στο Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Σερρών για 2 έτη και στη συνέχεια στο Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Θεσσαλονίκης Γ. Παπαγεωργίου για 4 έτη, από όπου και έλαβε τον τίτλο ειδικότητας. Κατά τη διάρκεια της ειδικότητας του συμμετείχε και σε πληθώρα χειρουργείων ως βοηθός χειρουργός του Τμήματος Χειρουργικής Ήπατος Χοληφόρων-Παγκρέατος της Κλινικής Άγιος Λουκάς, στο Πανόραμα Θεσσαλονίκης. 

Μετά την ολοκλήρωση της ειδικότητας μετεκπαιδεύτηκε στη Χειρουργική Ήπατος, Χοληφόρων, Παγκρέατος & Μεταμοσχεύσεων Ήπατος στο Organ Transplantation Center, China Medical University Hospital στην Taichung της Ταϊβάν. 

Από τον Αύγουστο του 2025 εργάζεται ως Επιμελητής Χειρουργός στο Γενικό Νοσοκομείο Θεσσαλονίκης Γ. Παπανικολάου ενώ παράλληλα αποτελεί Συνεργάτη Χειρουργό της Κλινικής Άγιος Λουκάς.

Είναι πτυχιούχος της Ιατρικής Σχολής του Πανεπιστημίου της Ρώμης «La Sapienza» και ειδικεύτηκε στη Γενική Χειρουργική Κλινική του Γενικού Νοσοκομείου Πειραιά «Τζάνειο». Ο ιατρός αναλαμβάνει λαπαροσκοπικές χολοκυστεκτομές, βουβωνοκήλες, ομφαλοκήλες, επεμβάσεις λεπτού και παχέος εντέρου, επεμβάσεις θυρεοειδούς και μαστού, καθώς και καθαρισμό έλκους κατάκλισης. Ενημερώνεται διαρκώς για τις εξελίξεις της ειδικότητάς του μέσω συμμετοχής σε συνέδρια και παρακολούθησης σεμιναρίων. Είναι συνεργάτης του Metropolitan Hospital, του Mediterraneo Hospital, του Ιατρικού Κέντρου Αθηνών, καθώς και άλλων ιδιωτικών νοσοκομείων, όπως και του ιδιωτικού πολυϊατρείου Top Meds. Διαθέτει μεγάλη εμπειρία στην τραυματολογία και στην επείγουσα ιατρική, ενώ διαχειρίζεται ογκολογικά και τακτικά περιστατικά. Έχει πολύπλευρη και μακρόχρονη εμπειρία, έχοντας πραγματοποιήσει μεγάλο αριθμό επεμβάσεων σε όλο το φάσμα της Γενικής Χειρουργικής, καθώς και στη χειρουργική τραύματος. Έχει εμπειρία στη διάγνωση και χειρουργική αντιμετώπιση παθήσεων τόσο σε προγραμματισμένα όσο και σε επείγοντα περιστατικά και διατηρεί ιατρείο στο Νέο Φάληρο. Το επιστημονικό του υπόβαθρο του επιτρέπει να λαμβάνει τεκμηριωμένες και εξατομικευμένες θεραπευτικές αποφάσεις, με γνώμονα τις ανάγκες του κάθε ασθενούς. Εργάζεται ως Επιμελητής στο Χειρουργικό Τμήμα του Γενικού Νοσοκομείου Αθηνών «Ο Ευαγγελισμός». Έχει εκπαιδευτεί και εργαστεί σε μεγάλα νοσοκομεία της Αθήνας και του Πειραιά, όπως το «Τζάνειο», καθώς και σε εξειδικευμένα κέντρα αναφοράς, αποκτώντας σημαντική εμπειρία στη διαχείριση οξέων χειρουργικών περιστατικών και ασθενών με σύνθετα προβλήματα υγείας. Στην καθημερινή του κλινική δραστηριότητα αναλαμβάνει την εκτίμηση και τη χειρουργική αντιμετώπιση μεγάλου αριθμού ασθενών, πραγματοποιώντας ανοιχτές και ελάχιστα επεμβατικές (λαπαροσκοπικές) επεμβάσεις, τόσο σε επείγοντα όσο και σε προγραμματισμένα περιστατικά. Αντιμετωπίζει παθήσεις που καλύπτουν όλο το φάσμα της Γενικής Χειρουργικής, όπως κήλες (βουβωνοκήλη, ομφαλοκήλη, μετεγχειρητική κήλη, μηροκήλη), πρωκτολογικές παθήσεις (αιμορροΐδες, ραγάδα), παθήσεις της χοληδόχου κύστης (χολολιθίαση, πολύποδες), χειρουργική θυρεοειδούς, κολεκτομές, καθώς και χειρουργική μαστού. Ο ιατρός ασχολείται και με αισθητικές μη χειρουργικές επεμβάσεις, όπως Botox, Dysport, PDO νήματα κολλαγονογένεσης και δερματικά εμφυτεύματα (dermal fillers).
